An appropriate response would be "I don't know. What do you think?" At least it is the truth....... :-) Good luck!
My little 4 year old girl keeps asking me "Who made G-D"
Ughhhhhhhh, I have tried saying God has always been around and I have tried he can do anything but she persists with her questioning. Any ideas???

This won't be a popular answer but why don't you just tell the truth -- that no one knows? Sorry, this seems to be a very religious group of women on this site, but for those of us that are not 100% sure we are believers or that God exists at all, it seems like the right thing to do is just say no one knows for sure but when you are older, you can decide that for yourself! After all we should teach children to be independent and make up their own minds about all the important matters, including politics and religion. All we can do is guide them and hope they turn out to be nice people no matter where or who they worship.
I always tell my 3 year old, who questions everything non-stop, that "I don't know" whenever I truly don't know. I tell him that we don't know answers for everything. That's the truth, so the sooner he learns that not every question has a definite answer -the better for all of us!
awww...so cute. Yes, I've gotten this question and I thnk my answer went along these lines:
"I know why you would ask that. Everything we see around us, God made. Everything we see around us has a beginning and an ending. But God is different. He doesn't have a beginning or an ending. He has always been and always will be, forever and ever and ever. Nobody made him, He is bigger and more than anything we can imagine. And thatis so hard to understand because we are just little people and we don't really get that. So, this is a really good question because it is something that grown-ups don't really understand completely either."
I think it's good to let your kids know that there are some things that are hard to understand, even for adults, and that it is great for her to wonder and ask and try to understand all those big things!

It's difficult to answer questions about things we, ourselves cannot wrap our minds around! We're only human, right? I hope some of these help -- looks like your little girl isn't the only one with that question.
I've answered this question many times. To me the best answer is to let her know that there are many things that we don't know, but one day we will get all of our questions answered. We don't know the answer to that answer, no one does. Sure, some of us have our suspicions, but we won't know 100% until then.
We are to live our life as our Heavenly Father wants us to here. Yes, there will be questions that will come up and we'll get those answered. And there will be some like this question that we just don't know and God will not expect us to rack our brain on something that we can not answer at this time. Good luck!
Hey! How brave of you to want to answer -- that's fabulous! I tell my 6-yr old that God is like a circle, without beginning or end. Good luck:)
I agree, admit you don't know. If you go to church you could always talk to your pastor and get him involved. Look things up with her to teach her how to get answers on her own as she gets older.
