What about his being Peter Parker with a Spiderman t-shirt under an oxford shirt? When someone asks who are you he can open his oxford shirt and show the web design.
Good luck.

Mommies,
My 2 yr old son loves spiderman and batman; however, he is afraid of even seeing the costume... any ideas of what he could dress as for his halloween parade for school?? I don't seem to find a website that may have something.
Your help is so much appreciated!! :)
Hugs, Y.

How about a fireman, police man, chef or doctor? Good Luck!
skip the mask and just get him a cape and a shirt and pants. He is only two so it won't make much of a difference.
Is he afraid of the mask? Or the entire costume?
Anyway think of something like a cowboy, an animal like a dog, lion or a real person like a fireman I noticed Costco had SWAT costumes for young f kids.. they were sooo cute.. ..
He could be super creative and thinks if you put it on him he actually becomes that character. Maybe just put an random cape on him and paint his first name initial on a t shirt.. and call him Super "Bobby" (whatever his name is.)
Can you get a free one from freecycle, a friend, craigslist? Let him have it as a dress up then see how he does. tell him it is clothing don't even show him a mask. Good luck!!
why not put him in spider man "old man" pajamas and a house robe and be Grandpa! and he still gets to have his superhero
How about if he dresses up lik one of those but doesn't wear a mask.
Other options:
Pirate
Mickey M. buy just the ears and figure out the clothes.
UPS guy (saw pic of this and it was cute. all brown, hat, miniature dolly made out of PVC pipes.)
What about a Robin costume? Would that scare him? My 2 year old is wearing that this year (but basically because his older brother is Batman crazed, so I thought it would be cute). You could also get a cape if that doesn't scare him and just dress him in black jeans and a Batman shirt.
Since at 2 they're really not too picky about what they dress up as, you could also choose something he might not be scared of like an animal costume or a more "babyish" cartoon character like Thomas or Lightning McQueen. There are also professions like policeman, fireman, doctor, etc. My oldest was 3 last year and dressed as a policeman and LOVED it. He still wears the costume all the time! Most little boys are nuts over firemen and fire trucks too.
When my son was little, he had a pair of superman pajamas that came with a little detachable cape. Maybe you can find something like that for him to wear.
He's only 2 so he doesn't have to wear anything elaborate.
You could get him some grey sweat pants and a shirt and "stuff" them so he looks like he has big muscles. You can make a "dumbell" out of a dowl and two stirofoam balls painted black so it looks like it should be heavy.
He could be a little weightlifter.
Just use your imagination and find something he'll be comfortable in.
Have fun!
Maybe just put him in the colors of the superhero and just paint a little symbol on his face or carry the action figure.
Woluld pjs work? He could wear pjs and just be a kid. If he's really afraid to dress as a super heror my son was a train engineer one year I bought the engineer striped overalls at Osh Kosh at Grapevine Mills and he had a train engineer hat he had gotten from his uncle. He wore a white tee & black shoes and I tied a red bandana around his neck. Simple, not scary and relatively inexpensive.
there was a little boy at our child care centere that dressed as a boxer!! It was so cute! he had on a t-shirt, silky shorts and a boxer cape and even little boxing gloves.
It was so cute because he was only 18 months and his mom had sewn or ironed his name on the back of the warm up cape!!

They have a lot of easy costume ideas and think they have a few for bats (One's a bat hat) and I've seen one where bat wings were made from a trashbag and attached to a black sweat suit. Much tamer and easy to make at home. I'm always amazed that even though it doesn't look like "Bat Man" (or any iconic character) to us, the less scary costumes can still be very acceptable to the little ones and often they are cuter because you can see their adorable faces! They also don't look so cookie cutter like ;-)
