My 3 yr. Old daughter is doing great on thr potty. She goes all by herself and is wahing her hands alone. She is still using the little potty and i got her a stool for the sink and the toddler pump soap. My problem is getting her to wipe after pee=pee. She doesn't call me like when she has a bm. The toilet paper is next to the toilet and her potty is across from it. I have tried leaving pieces of toilet paper next to the potty but she just plays with it. I have the traing wipes but she just plays with those so i keep them out of reach so only i can get to them to wipe her after a bm. Any suggestions would be great. Am i asking too much for her to be wiping yet?

What can I do next?

I find in situations like this the best thing is to be honest to them. tell her that if she doesn't wipe after she pee pees then she could get an infection and let her know that those infections hurt and she may have to go to the doctor. It may sound a little blunt but its never to early to warn them of real concequences to there actions.

Hello, Have you tried the toilet paper with the puppy on it? I thinkit is made by charmin, it shows them exatly 5 sheets. She might be interested in that or I would just go into the bathroom with her every time until she really gets the hang of it. And no I don't thiunk your asking to much, I have a three year old son and he wipes. There might be a whole other issue with girls, my daughter just turned two so I haven't gone down that road with her yet.

Have you tried the Pampers Can-do wipes? They clean better than dry toilet paper ans it makes it easier to wipe them selves. That's what worked for my kids. And you can leave the box(it's easy for them to open themselves it's all about independence.)next to the potty seat.

REWARD! They love being rewarded....then praised. Make a really big deal out of it when you reward her if she does it on her own. Explain to her that (and you may have to stand there, watch her, and reward her a couple of times for her to completely understand) SHE has to do this all by herself and she will get (something she really likes) 2 M&M's or a piece of gum, or if she likes money...some change. But make it clear and be consistent with it that SHE has to do it!! I have a couple of friends that suggested this to me and I found it to be helpful! One of my friends used the money idea and when she got enough money, she got to go to the store and shop for her own special thing. It also teaches how to earn what you want! Good Luck!
