Ok...*DEEEP BREATH* I have now lived in Pleasanton for almost a year and I keep wondering...do I smell bad? People are incredibly friendly! I love the weather. We live in a nice area. I am a SAHM and I have no, yes, NO friends. =/ My kids are overflow kids so I end up driving them to school. When school started I did the usual chat with the other moms but when it became apparent that we didn't live by they drifted away. We joined new-comers group but didn't seem to jive with anyone. We have tried several churches but only just found one this last weekend we are comfortable in.
I don't want to sound whiney but...IMA LONELY! YOOOHOOO! Anyone out there that just wants to chat? Have a cup of coffee?? Go to Half Priced Books? Quilt? Garden? Debate politics, religion? Likes their husband and doesn't want to spend the time bashing them?? If so, send me a holler back...Ima just waiting here with a clean house, groomed yard and a cup of joe. =)
Oh, must like dogs and Everquest. :P

What can I do next?

That sounds like my boat. I have 5 girls, two sets of twins and one step daughter. I'm always younger than the other moms, so I think I don't mesh well with them. We live in Livermore. I've been here 5 years and have no neighborhood friends either.

Hi H.,

I live in Livermore and don't really spend a lot of time with other moms from my daughter's or son's schools. I think a lot of it is because when I pick them up from school, we are always on the go, heading to one activity or another. I work part time as well, so a lot of time I am rushing to pick one or the other up straight from work. But now that summer is coming up, it would be great to be able to hang out and shoot the breeze with other moms while the kids all played together...afternoons preferred over morning.

P.S. TOTALLY agree with you that a strong marriage is the key to a strong family!

I don't live in the Pleasenton area, but Fremont is not so very far away if you want to meet some where. I have 2 daughters. They are 5 and 2. The older is a true tom-boy, and my 2 year old is a special needs girly. Both love to be out and about, though.

Hi, H.!!! Well, one never knows where one may find their next good friend, right? So, I'm responding to your "shout out" for new friends :)
A little about me: married mom of a 3yr old girl, I work 3 days a week at her school (and she is only in school those 3 days), I have two grown boys and have already been made a grandma!
I am not particularly religious (not church-going though I'm not against it)although I consider myself to have spirituality :)
Oh, H., my daughter, Katie Rose, wants to do coloring pages on the computer and so I will content myself with this brief reply and look forward to hearing from you if you're interested!
All Smiles,
S.
