Hi moms, I have seen this on TV and was thinking of buying it for my 13 year old daughter. She has very hairy arms and uses a hair removal. But this ends up being very expensive as you have to do it often and use about half the bottle in one use. So has anyone tried "smooth away" as seen on TV and have any success? Is it worth my while to buy it? Thanks so much.....

What can I do next?

Thank you moms for all your great advice!!! I think I will hold off a little and maybe try something similar at a cheap price!!! I think for now I might recommend for her to lighten he hair as one of you moms said. Thanks again!! You are the best and Happy Holidays everyone!!!

When I was younger I tried it and really wanted it to work, so I pressed perhaps too hard. The result was raw, but hairy, legs. Then years later my MIL had a set at her house. I picked up a new one and tried it again. The result was that it took longer than shaving, the result wasn't as good and some places just wouldn't get smooth for me. So if I had kept on and on, I'm guessing the result would have been similar to that when I was younger. I don't think I would give it to my daughter - especially for areas like arm pits.

I bought it a while ago, when it is just started on TV. Hate it. I have pretty fine hair but it didn't work on me at all. Everything I've got is the same amount of hair and painful skin irritation. I've tried it on my arms, legs, bikini, underarms - it doesn't work anywhere.
I have a set, I will give it to your daughter for free to try, this way you won't need to spend money. Just send me your address and I will mail it to you. My email is ____@____.com

No way! Don't bother it doesn't work. Biggest rip off but at least it was cheap. I used to wax at Uni K, they're really good, moderately priced and quick. www.unikwax.com or shaving is quick but I know it's last resort for your daughter.

Yes! I probably shouldn't admit this, but I'm a very pregnant, very Italian-American wife/mother, and it was my husband that bought me this product!I love it, it works, it removed my hair(which stayed away longer than shaving!) and it made my skin so baby smooth, I was in awe. I used it on my lower legs, and the hair there is like wire! The only draw backs are that it is more time consuming than shaving, and may irritate those with sensitive skin, since it does use friction for hair removal, but not nearly as much as cream removers, which always seem to burn the skin off of my upper lip, leaving only my moustache behind!

I use it and like it, but I also shave with it. I use it more as an exfoliant (sp?). I like to do it at night and then shave in the moring and my legs are soooooo smooth. I have tried using it on my arms (it seems like that is what you are interested in) and it's very hard to do on my right arm with my left hand (i'm a righty) because as someone else mentioned you have to use a circular motion in each direction.

It might be worth a try it's $10 and there are usually 1.50 off coupons in the Sunday paper. It may save you some $$ in the long run.

Hi, I have not used this product, but I have hairy arms as well. I use a bleaching cream by Jolen or you can use the store brand. I've used the CVS brand and it works great. It makes the hairs on your arms so light, you don't see the hairs at all. It's painless, easy and you only have to use it once a month or even once every two months depending on your hair growth. I would definitely recommend it ;)

Yes and it was not all that great. My hair is blonde and not course and the only thing that really worked for me was the smaller one for the lip but it broke me out. Nair has an awesome face hair remover. I'd go that route.

Hi! I bought the smooth away kit. It's ok. It does take some time to rub off the hair. You have to do it in a circular motion three times one way and three times the other way, repeatedly. It's like a very smooth sandpaper. But once you have it done it feels great better then shaving or waxing ever could. The hair does grow back but I seem to thing it's getting thinner. I hope this helps!

I have tried it. I use it on my lip and my eyebrows sometimes. I love it. It really works. I don't know how much they want fot it on television, but I have seen it at a flea market we have here in Daytona for $5.00. My daughter got one at a Dollar General store as well. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful day!

I bought it... and the first time I did it... it was great! After that it didn't work at all I even changed pads and did everything it told me to. Don't waste your money in my opinion.

Dont bother, it doesnt really work that well for hair removal, its good for exfoliating but you have to be careful as it can feel like a burn if you do it for too long or too hard! Ouch!
