This year I along with my boyfriend are hosting our own halloween carnival, a mini verison if you will. We are having trouble coming up with a few extra games. So far we have cake walk, duck pond, fishing, bones in a hay stack, witch hat toss, tic tac toe, bowling, and we want three more. I was trying to think of some fun games but i'm stupmed. I was thinking of bobbing for apples but the the crowd of kide are mostly young. I am also having a picture booth for the kids. I don't want anything to complicated or anything that will cost bookoos of money. Please give me some suggestions!!! Thanks to all

What can I do next?

Pin the nose/hat/wart on the witch/ogre. Broomstick limbo. Toss the beanbag into the mouth of a troll/ghost/monster. Make flubber/slime (dozens of recipes online). Creepy sensory boxes with jello and slime. Whoever dares to put their hand in gets a candy. Buy a cardboard skeleton and trace around it on a big piece of butcher paper on the wall then take apart the skeleton and hide the pieces and have a skeleton hunt where they bring the parts back and assemble the skeleton. Award different values for the assorted body parts and then give prizes accordingly.

How about the ball under the cup thing? You get 3 cups, put a ball under one of them, move the cups all around and the kid choses which cup they think the ball is under. You could do a pin the nose on the witch or something like that. I've seen one before where you make a really simple catapolt that the kids steps on with their foot and it lauches a rubber chicken ( could be anything) into a basket? You could also have an adult dress up like a fortune teller and do readings!

This is SO CUTE! What about doing a lollipop tree...one of my faves! You can use styrofoam to make the "tree" and just stick little suckers (like Dum Dums) in there. Color some of the bottoms of the stick with red marker. If the kid gets a red, he gets a prize or you could just have them choose again (plus the sucker). If the bottom of the stick is plain, they just get the sucker.

If you want games you could do relays and such...or an egg toss game? Eggs are sort of Halloweeny, although they are usually used by vandals! ;) You could hot potato with a miniature pumpkin. You could also do a station where kids can decorate mini pumpkins. I just got some at the grocery store for 2/$1. Depending on how many kids you have, it's prettty reasonable. You can use permanent markers or those foam stickers in a halloween theme. You can also have a face paining booth and/or a Halloween tatoo table. Have fun!

How about a donut eating race? You tie the donuts to a broomstick with different length strings, and have a race to see who can eat their donut first---no hands, of course. You can string up as many as you want ahead of time, with a loop on the end of the string, and put 5 or 6 on the broomstick at a time.

You could do a bean bag toss and a costume contest.

This isn't a game but how about face painting or halloween tatooing, then you could make a kinko board, that may be a little expense as far as the board and nails, but anyway if you haven't heard of kinko remember price is right, just some quick ideas, I hope this helps, have fun!!!!

The hand in the bowl game is always fun for kids...grapes in oil for eyeballs, etc.

also, for my daughters birthday we did a berti's beans tasting... asking one at a time who is daring enough to try this bean... they taste really bad, like ear wax, dirt, vomit, sardines, etc... you can find them online.

A ring toss, where you toss the ring and try to get it to land on the neck of a bottle. A coin toss, where you try to toss a coin onto a plate and get it to stay there instead of bouncing or rolling off. The one thing that came to mind instantly was face painting. Kids always like to get dragons or fairies or whatever painted on their cheeks! That was always the favorite part of the carnivals for my daughter. If you don't have a parent that can draw or paint, try asking a highschooler. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

We did the ring toss. Line 12 two liter bottles of drinks and some empty ones with just water and get a small ring and let the kids toss three rings to see if they can ring one of the bottles. They wpuld get three chances. If they ring all three, the get to pick the flavor of the drink. This one was a hit last year for us.

We made a huge pot of spagehti, put spider rings in it, and let the kids fish them out with their toes.

We did the donut on a string thing too, it was hillarious!

The kids love slime and limbo too.

We've also tied the powered sugar donuts (small ones) on a string and have them hang down and when the kids try to eat them they "bob" around and it's hysterical to watch (no hands!!). You could also do it with marshmellows, but then they don't get all "white"!!!

dropping clothes pins into a milk jug is always challenging too and doesn't cost much

We also make a bean bag toss - sometimes you can find them at the dollar stores or Dollar general.

One of the popular booths at the school carnival was First Aid. Kids get to pick their ailment - cracked head, broken arm, etc- and get bandaged up with it. Add some fake blood and you're good to go. The bandages are strips of old white sheets, fake blood from the Halloween makeup isle in the store so you're not spending a lot.

Apple-Marshmallow Bob is funny to watch but can get messy. Set up two lines so kids can go head to head. If the kids are younger, use shallower tubs/bowls to make the items easier to reach. The process is bob for an apple, once you get the apple move to the bowl with the marshmallows. But, the marshmallows are in a bowl of flour so they end up with spots of flour stuck to their faces.

Football or baseball toss. Hang and old tire, hoola-hoop, or inflatable pool ring from a tree branch or other horizontal pole and have the kids try to throw the balls through the hoops. You can use Nerf balls to minimize possible injuries. If someone has a golf practice net, hang it a few feet behind the hoops to keep from having to chase the balls. A sheet would also work.

Have fun!

Instead of using bowling balls and pins you could use gourds and small pumpkins. Pass the mini pumpkin down the row from under the chin to under the chin. Draw a jack o lantern while blindfolded, stick the nose on the jack o lantern blindfolded (like pin the tail on the donkey) have fun!
