My husband said there were NO changes except for not having to worry about having another child which made the sex much better, sort of like having sex witha pregnant chick ;)
Hi all,
My hubby is considering a vasectomy. He's a little worried that a diaphragm might not do the job so well, and I don't want to go on any pills until I'm done breatfeeding. So . . . a personal question for the guys out there (if you don't mind asking!): has a vasectomy affected anyone's enjoyment of sex? Not to be graphic, but does it decrease the fluid output, and are the orgasms less satisfying because of it? Thanks for asking. I hope this doesn't stir up any trouble!

Sounds pretty good! Thanks for all of the testimonials. I'll pass it all along. :)

My husband, nor I, noticed any changes at all. It's amazing the rumors out there about this :-) A vasectomy does not change the quantity, consistency, color, smell, taste, or the enjoyment of the production of semen.
My husband is basically dictating this -it's great! No fluid change, no decrease of sexual pleasure or function -in fact it's even better because we're not worried at all! Orgasms are just as good as ever!
Unless he's faking, the orgasms are just as or even more satisfying.
My husband said there is less fluid, but all the feeling and satisfaction is the same as before.
My hubby's advice to your hubby, "relax, its no big deal" :)
No problems or regrets on my husbands behalf. I have none either :)
My friend Tim always said he noticed NO changes--just "shooting blanks"!
My BIL had one after their 4th child and he's always bragging about it. Lol. According to them, nothing has changed except the fear of getting pregnant again is gone.
My hubby got one about 14 yrs ago. No changes except the freedom of knowing there will be no pregnancy!
The week before my hubby had his vasectomy he had several dreams that somebody was chasing him with a butcher knife! But, after it was all over he was very pleasantly surprised with how easy it was. It made absolutely NO difference in our sex life except to make it better because we didn't have to worry about me getting pregnant! There was no difference in the amount of fluid that was ejaculated. If you have decided for sure to have no more children, a vasectomy is the way to go!!!
I can't answer the more personal questions because the info is coming from my brother ;-) , but he has mentioned on numerous occasions that he has had absolutely no regrets about having a vasectomy. My husband would have had a vasectomy, but it was so convenient for me to have my tubes tied after my c-section that we decided to do that instead. Good luck with your decision!
There's been no change in our sexual life. However, have your husband do a lot of research on medical side effects of vasectomies. Occasionally my husband gets a dull ache or a really sharp pain in the area and the doc says it's related to that. And every once in a while things kind of swell up (not in the normal sense).
If your husband does choose to have the procedure, if he has a high tolerance for pain meds and local anesthetics, tell him to be sure to notify the doc. My husband has a really high tolerance and the local anesthetic wore off about half way through the procedure. It already wasn't completely effective but after that he really felt it all. He's a huge wimp for pain and that being in such a sensitive area, he really babied himself after that. :)
Ok not to be graphic, but my husband had a vasectomy many many years ago and it has enhanced our sex life. We did not have to worry about birth control any more
My husband had a vasectomy last month. He didn't notice any difference in fluid output or any change in the orgasms. It's nice knowing we don't have to worry about birth control when the mood hits us!
My husband had one and he no problems. As long as you listen to the doc, stay off your feet for a day or so and ICE UP to prevent swelling (sorry if too graphic) The next day he was fine. No changes in sexual performance at all. It was so nice to not worry and unlike women the recovery time was minimal. Good luck!!
my husband got a vascetomy after our 3rd child. i was planning on having my tubes tied when i had my third baby but its a catholic hospital and they will not tie your tubes. which i should of known being catholic....but that is another story.
he was fine recovered great. and i told it was fine if he didnt get one but since the hospital were we delivered would not i did not want to go have another surgery ( i had a c section) at another hospital but i would never have sex again...we are very happy with our 3 kids but that is enough for us. anyhow he did NOT like the alternative i gave him so he got it done.
our sex life is the same as before. i dont see a difference with the fluid coming out.
