GPS Repair

Our Navigon got fried recently in a power surge and I shipped it to the company. It was still under warranty, but because I couldn't locate the receipt I had to pay for the repair. it cost me about $200 for a new motherboard and that isn't too bad given the orig price of the unit. I'd contact your manufacturer and see what they will do for you. I shipped my Navigon via Deutsch Post to a german repair place and paid for the repairs thru my Community Bank account so it wasn't that difficult. I just had to translate the costs of the repairs using babelfish and pay for it.

You can't send it in to the company you bought it from?
If you only used it once , it may be still under warranty?!
Tell me what model and I ask my sister in law, theu own a GPS company of some sort. I can ask her.

Your GPS may still be under warranty if you have your proof of purchase. Have you tried contacting the company? We bought a GPS and I accidentally overwrote the software - we wrote to Navigon and they sent us paperwork via email, we shipped it back using their shipping label and got it repaired and returned to us very quickly. Is your GPS a Navigon? If so, I can get you the contact information. They are very quick.

Is it a navagon? If so, I had problems with it going out - a grey screen would appear. If this is your problem, too, all you have to do is look on the bottom of the GPS and reset it. I can help with details if this is your problem.

i recommend contacting the company that made it or taking it back to the PX and trying to exchange it.

What is wrong with it? We had a fuse problem and there is no where in Germany you can find a replacement for it...depending on your model. Go to the website....www.navigon.com If you are ordering parts for it...use your Germany address...it's cheaper. Hope this helps. Also, call the reps. on that site...it may help before you go out and purchase another.

You should have your manufactures warranty. That might help. I don't think you can repair it. They might send you a new one if you have your warranty. Good Luck!
