Gift Suggestions for a Nanny Who's Leaving?

Hi everyone -

Our daughter is about to turn 2 and is going to start nursery school soon. Which is great, except for one thing: we have to say goodbye to our wonderful nanny who has been with us since she was 3 months old. :( Any parting gift ideas to thank her for her love and dedication? She really has become part of the family.

What can I do next?

Maybe a locket with a picture of your daughter inside? Maybe a framed picture of her and your daughter along with a nice sized gift certificate to a spa? She can probably use a nice massage right about now! ;) Whatever you decide on--if you DO get her a gift card/certificate to somewhere, you should give that along with something that is of sentimental value that she can remember her time with your daughter.

Hi L.: Some thoughts:
Beautiful picture frame or collage of pictures with your daughter!
Gift certificate to a day spa, manicure/pedicure etc.
Gift certificate to her favorite department store
Home made card by your daughter framed or as is...

I was also going to suggest the pictures/collage type idea.

A lady that I worked with actually had a coffee table book of pictures printed up. I think it was through Flickr

I'm very sentimental so I would go with something that she can use and keep. Perhaps a blanket or quilt...you know her so you know what she would use or wear. Maybe a nice bracelet or charm bracelet and a gift certificate to the spa, perhaps you could take her if she doesnt have someone to go with or wouldnt go on her own.

I think you should get her a necklace... I have suggested this little shop to alot of people lately, but I am not affiliated with her in anyway other than a customer.

Good luck :)
