Thursday is our nanny's last day with us because my youngest daughter will be starting school this year. We wanted to give her something special since she's been so great with our girls for the past 2 years. Any ideas on what to give her? She has been the best nanny we've had and I want her to know how much she has meant to us and that she will be missed. Thanks in advance!
If there were more time, I would suggest a scrapbook of her with the kids or of the kids in general. Since there's not that much time, perhaps a generous gift certificate to her favorite store or a day at a spa/salon?
To a nanny/babysitter, nothing means more than getting the appreciation that they so deserve! A nice card letting her know how much she means to you is great, along with a picture that the kids made for her and a gift card to Target or another place she likes to shop at is great!!
As a former Nanny I know that I would have loved a small scrapbook with pics of me and the kids. You can make these so quick on snapfish.com or other sites like it. I would also have the kids write her a letter telling her their favorite memories of her. (you could also have those typed in the book) I also like the other idea of a cash bonus. Im sure it would mean a lot to her. Most of all have fun on her last day!!!
A scrapbook of picutres and maybe a piece of jewelry (maybe a necklace). Both items she can keep forever. The pictures will bring back memories of the fun times and when she wears the jewelry she'll also think of your family.

A photo of your children would be something sentimental she might like having as a keepsake. As far as a big "gift", my suggestion would be a generous cash bonus if you can work it into your budget.

Do you have a picture of her with the kids? That in a nice frame and a nice card...maybe a gift certificate for spa treatment or something similiar would be nice.
