My lil girl got her first tooth last week, and i know she's going to be getting another soon, but damn she's been sooo cranky and GASSY the past 4 days or so. When she cut the first tooth i knew thats what was bothering her, but she seems like her stomach is hurting more than anything cause she's been passing alot of gas. I breastfeed, but haven't changed anything in my diet or eaten anything new compared to what i usually eat. Also, she usually poops everyday but the past week it's only been every 2-3 days. She is capable of sleeping straight through the night; like 9-4 or 5 but not the past few nights because of the gas.. Does tylenol make infants gassy or constipated? (i did give it to her for about 3 days in a row when i knew her teeth were hurting) And i've tried gripe water the past couple days, little tummy massages & leg exercises, but my poor baby just doesn't seem comfortable and she is usually the happiest baby EVER, but i can only put her down for like 10 minutes tops. Any ideas, advice? TIA

**Funny you mentioned the cereal.... me and my DH were actually talking about that today. I'll probably start her on some in the next couple days..

What can I do next?

She's till too young to start on cereal. She's already having digestion issues, why add to it.

I'm so sorry for you and her! I've been through a lot of this with both of my kids. I don't know what is causing the gas, but it hurts either way. I know that my baby gets really bad acid when he teeths, and he always has gas, so it makes sense it would go together.

If I were you I would give her some Hyland's colic pills, they ease the pain better than gripe water, I don't know why. Then, I would give her some Mylanta. It has an antacid and and anit-gas. I used it for the first 8 months of my baby's life. He never had any problems with it at all. I used 1-2 ml per dose. It really doesn't take very much, but it should really help.

I hope she feels better soon! If I can help more, let me know.

I'm so sorry she is feeling like this.

Ask your ped if you can give her Infant Gas-x drops. That can help w/gas.

Not sure if the Infant Tylenol would make her constipated.
What you can do too, is rub Infant Baby Orajel on her gums to give added
help topically.
The best seems to be the Infant Tylenol though.

I always recommend the natural, homeopathic tablets for teething by Hylands. I would not recommend you use Tylenol for teething pain. It's just not a good thing to get started on at so young. Save that for real issues, like fever and flu.

I would also recommend you follow the guidelines and wait another month to start rice cereal. If she's showing digestive distress now, don't add to it.

Are you nursing a lot more now too? Has more milk come in for her?

I also used to iron a washcloth, make it very warm, and place it on my babies tummies, swaddle them and hold them close, tummy to tummy, sway and rock them.

HTH!
