How about a TV show taping? They pay per person, so gather as many people as you can and carpool to studio city. It's fun and lucritve!
I put the question out once before but only received 2 responses. Does anyone have a Great Fund Raising idea I can use. I am the "Public Relations Coordinator" for my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. We are a non-profit group, looking for ways to raise money for next year's (starts Sept.) tuition assistance and to subsidize our children’s (Moppets) program. ANY ideas would be helpful, even if you think they sound ridiculous. Thank You, -J
Thank you for the ideas. I have forwarded them to the MOPS Coordinator. I'll let you gals know how they work out. Thanks~ J.

i just started in on the PTA for my daughter's preschool. it's a state funded/sliding scale program, so funding is limited. they have 150 kids in either the preschool, kindergarden, or grade school after school sections of the program. at our most recent PTA meeting, we decided to raffle off a mother's day basket. each child gets 20 tickets to sell, and the parents are asked to donate items to the basket. i spent a whopping 4 dollars on a nice stationary set that i got on clearance at staples, and had all 20 tickets sold in 3 days. this ended up raising about 2000 dollars, as some of the kids didn't sell all of their tickets, but, it was a cheep, easy way to raise funds for the classes. now we have some money to send the kids on a field trip over the summer, as this is a year-round program. we have decided to do the same thing for father's day. this should fund another field trip for the kids. we also decided that at all of the PTA meetings (usually twice a month) we are going to sell store bought snacks for the parents and kids, to raise a couple extra dollars... kind of like a bake sale twice a month, and each parent that comes is going to bring one store bought snack (pack of cookies, box of snack cakes, individual juices, coffee). other than field trips, we are working toward getting updated computers for each classroom (there are 3 class rooms) and new A/C units. we are crossing our fingers on that one! but, bake sales twice a month, and raffling off baskets seem to be our only ideas at the moment. we also considered a car wash on a saturday, and having the kids come help wash cars, and well as a GIANT yardsale, where parents and children bring/donate a couple items to sell, and set up shop at the school. these are ideas that are still in the works. hope it helped!!!
How about a raffle!! Get three parents and/or businesses in your community to donate three items!! Word has a "raffle ticket sample", make a first, second and third prize and sell them (depending on how nice and expensive the items are)for a dollar!! Make sure you give yourself three weeks for the drawing and be prepaired to do alot of selling at school, neighborhood and as I did, send my friends 50 to 100 raffle tickets each and ask them to sell it at work for you!! I raised quite alot of money, and the only cost was running copies of the raffle tickets, postage and of course, my time!! Hope this helps, good luck!! V.
J.,
Check with your local Starbucks, as they usually help non profit groups with community fund raisers. Have a coffee nite.
We just had a fund raising Bake Sale for Autism and raised over $300. Our neighborhood Stater Bros donated some baked goods and we made the rest! Have a car wash.
What city are you in? Perhaps I can help you brainstorm
