I am looking for the healthiest frozen chicken nugget. Every time I ask this question I get thousands of homeade answers. I do agree with you wonderful moms, but when that's not an option any ideas? I don't have a costcos so any other ideas?
We just love Morning Star Farms chicken nuggets. They are actually vegetarian and made with soy - but I can't tell the difference.
When we are eating poultry I use Tyson products - usually the chicken strips. I stay away from anything that says "mechanically separated" or "processed" on the label.

I don't think there is a healthy chicken nugget. Isn't that part of the appeal ;) Just limit the amount you eat and you'll be fine.

O.K., I just have to but in here. I knew a guy who used to raise chickens for Tyson. They provided him the chicken feed for them and it was so full of steroides that the chickens would grow so fast that they couldn't even walk. He said they would be like a full sized chicken in a fraction of the time. Do some research, those steriods is the reason kids are starting puberty much sooner. You best bet would be to find a good organic grociery store. We don't have one here but I've heard alot about Trader Joes. You might want to check it out. And in case you didn't know there is a huge difference between organic and all natural. Organic means there are NO chemicals at all. Natural just means that AFTER it is harvested, or killed there is no more added. Think of this. A head of lettuce. If you grow it using no pesticides or chemicals it's organic. If you grow it but you spray it down with all sorts of chemicals, but add nothing to it after you have picked it from the ground, it's natural. Good luck.

Baking or microwaving Tyson all white breast nuggets is what I do! Tyson's is my and my granddaughter's preferred choice. I am disabled and can't "cook" for very long.

I buy Earth's Best chicken nuggets. They are organic white meat chicken, and baked instead of fried. They are also breaded in "whole grain" although who knows what that actually means. They taste good and don't have nearly the junk that regular nuggets have.
The only thing is, they are $4.99 for a box, and there are not very many in there. But they are the best I have seen so far, so I buy them. Good luck!

Morningstar Farms has a veggie "Chicken nugget". Much healthier than the other real chicken out there. They are made out of vegetable protein. Make sure you cook them to crispy. My kids dip them in honey mustard and/or bbq. They prefer these to drive thru!

If you look at the ingredient label on the nuggets you will find words only a chemist understands.
If you like those chemicals in your body, its a "healthy" chicken nugget because chicken is basicly healthy.
Good luck to you and yours.

Tyson is nice and healthy and good, but kindof pricey. However, there are not a lot of options out there if you do not have a Costco or Sams club in your area.

Oberweis carries organic chicken nuggets. They don't sell them at our local oberweis store, but they have them on their website. When I went into the store and asked, they were happy to order some in for me and I went to the store to pick them up once they arrived. My little one loves them and in a pinch when I don't have time to prepare her meal from scratch (which I usually do) they work great! My husband likes them too.

Check your local health food stores. Mine has a frozen section/cold section with grass fed meats, organic chicken nuggets, wheat free/gluten free options, etc. Anyone can slap the label "all natural" on something. It does not mean it is healthy. What you really are looking for is organic, and check the recipe list. If it has a bunch of things you cannot pronounce or a laundry list of things that make it far removed from nature, you don't want it.
I don't know if it is the healthiest, but we use Bell & Evans and Yummy chicken fries - both are carried by our local grocery store. I have also used Ian's organic chicken nuggets, but my son did not like them as much.
Good luck,
C.

I buy Bell & Evans brand chicken nuggets from Whole Foods. They use whole pieces of chicken, not processed 'chicken blobs'. We've bought both the regular kind and the gluten-free (I can't tell the difference in taste).

i agree with amber h. but don't think about it too hard or your brain will explode - it's NOT just chicken, it's literally everything we put in our bodies. honestly i don't think there is a "healthy option" (except paying out the yin yang at a health food store, or growing your own) good luck finding something you can live with...

I have a VERY picky eater and my son like Perdue chicken nuggets. They are with the fresh chicken and are not frozen but you can freeze them if you want. They are made with real chicken, not the spongey stuff in mosty nuggets.

Tyson does offer an "All Natural" nugget, try looking for that. It's with all of their regular breaded chicken products in the frozen section. :)

When I make them home made, they just don't have that "nugget" appeal. So when I crave a nugget, I throw in Tyson's. My baby loves them too. =)

Have you tried Whole Foods? They might have something that fits your needs. The major brands and generics in the regular stores all seem to be sodium bombs and I am sure are not made from chickens raised in a humane manner. Start with Whole Foods. If not there, they might give you some advice.
