Hi Ladies,

My niece is getting married at the end of the summer and I was thinking that I would like to give her a copy of her invitation framed with pressed flowers. Would anyone be able to recommend a place locally that does this? Thanks!

S.

S., What about doing it yourself. You can get a shadow box or nice frame from Michael's or Aaron Brothers art mart. You can glue it onto another fancy sheet of paper and burn around the edges or whatever you think is tasteful. Add some of those small fake flowers that are in silk or ribbons and put it around the invitation. Or you can ask at Micheal's, Aaron Brothers if they know who would do something like that.

Or you can go to those scrap booking stores and ask someone there to help you I am sure they would be able to help you do a really nice job, they have some really nice decorations as well as paper. I think you pay per hour or something, but you can just ask for some help and ideas.

I think this will be a great keepsake for them.
Take care,
K.

I'm not to sure where you can get this done, but I just wanted to say what a neat idea that is! My husband and I got married over 7 years ago & we got our invitation pressed on wood as a gift~ what a keepsake that we can easily keep displayed :)

There is a family owned business on Gilbert and Southern called Matage. The link to their website is http://www.matageframing.com/. I highly recommend them!

S.,

I'm with Kathy. If you have time, do it yourself! When a good friend of mine got married 10 years ago, that was my bridal shower gift to her. (I bought a shadow box from Michael's and had a cool mat cut the size of the frame to use as the background and mounted it up and used her wedding colors to accent it along with some reminders of places they had gone and things they had done together before they'd gotten married) Years later, it's still hanging up in her home and she told me it was one of the most thoughtful gifts she received. In *my* eyes, it wasn't the most beautiful thing ever but she felt it was due to the fact that I took the time to do it. Somehow, those gifts always mean more when they're handmade. Not that it's not great to have them done, but home-made are nice too.

someone did this for us. They actually had my invitation "the wording" engraved on a silver frame. It opened up and I could slip the real invitation on the other side. I think it was done at Things Remembered.
