Do you eat a lot of dairy products? I find that if I can eat more veggies without having gas issues when I stop eating dairy.
Ok the dutch oven was fun for a couple of days but now its getting old. I have recently begun eating healthier and including many more fruits and vegetables into my diet. I have also begun exercising. Not a ton, just 20 min, 5-7 days a week. Well my stomach is extremely angry and wants it's nachos back. I am constantly gurgling and the gas is ridiculous. My kids have a book about farts that says that gas from beans and vegetables does not stink. Um wrong. I've had to pin it on my kids a couple of times out in public it smelled so bad. I look like I am 3 months pregnant. So my question is, will my body get used to the fruits and veggies or am I stuck with this consequence of eating healthy forever?
ETA @Nicole, that is what I meant!!! It was fun to dutch oven my husband for a few days but now I am bored of that and just want to stop farting!!! LMAO!!!

So, your flatulence is because of the dutch oven? Usually the dutch oven is the result of flatulence! ;) (I couldn't stop giggling... I'm so sorry! When I read this post all I could think of was someone trapping farts under the covers.)
/EDIT - OH! Haha! I've been seeing actual dutch oven posts on here for the past few days and I thought this was another post about a real dutch oven... but this time one whose meals were causing flatulence and it had me laughing.
Other than my giggling, I don't have much to contribute to reducing gas. I usually just ride the wave until my body adjusts.
I will never understand how people can do that dutch oven thing! I've been with my husband over 25 years and we still keep bodily functions private! Yuck!
That being said, it sounds like you guys have a lot of fun together and that's fantastic! It'll take about a week or so, but generally you should be changing your diet slowly -- not all at once -- and this is why. You can go back to some of your old foods and slowly switch over. Beano helps, and check if you've increased any one type of food in particular -- broccoli, cabbage, even more dairy, can increase gas. I took out wheat and my stomach calmed down completely! Good luck! And stop torturing your family! ;)
Have you tried Gas-X?
I agree with the advice on the probiotic. They can do wonders to help your body adjust to a new way of eating.
I have always heard that when you are changing our diet to have more fiber, you are supposed to add fiber in slowyl. This is to combat your stomach not being able to handle it. I am assuming that it will just take a while to get adjusted since you went all out!
I would try and pinpoint what is causing it. I would consider that a food intolerance. Certain foods have that effect on people. I cannot eat onion or garlic or the same thing happens to me. It's gotten really bad so I go to great lengths to keep it out of my diet. Sucks as I love garlic and onion. Yet my gas is painful because I get so bloated and I end up passing it all day. So annoying and - pee eww.
My mom has the same problem with watermelon, green pepper and cucumbers. She just can't eat them.
It can take awhile for your body to adjust to a different diet.
Try eating some yogurt or take a probiotic to help your system adjust.
You can also take a activated charcoal capsule every day for a few weeks - it will really help to take the smell away.
Also take some Gaviscon.
If it doesn't improve after a few weeks, you might have a food intolerance.
Try Beano. Take 2-3 with each food culprit. It makes a world of difference. I should buy stock in the stuff!
My husband and I never shared the "fruits" of our bodily functions.
Thank God.
Dutch oven?
Gross. Nope. Nada. Never. No way. Yuck.
It might be funny for you, but perhaps somebody needs Beano.
I used be bad....but am used to it now. Its probably the raw veggies. I ate a lot of cooked and gradually worked in the raw. Berries didnt bother me, but apples and bananas did....just slowly worked them in but not at the same time as the veggies :) or you could just stick with it....it's got to get better soon.
This looked helpful!
Ok...What does a dutch oven have to do with farts...LOL
