T.S.
I give him the day off, no chores, no responsibility, he can go do whatever he wants, it's the same thing I get for Mother's Day!
What do you do for your husband on Father's day?
do you get him something from you or strictly have the kids make/buy a gift?
not sure what is most fitting.
I give him the day off, no chores, no responsibility, he can go do whatever he wants, it's the same thing I get for Mother's Day!
I am getting him a little leather bound photo journal and filling it up with family photos. I know he will love it, I haven't printed any photos of our family like... ever, and he is always asking for a photo album!
Our girls go to Grandma for "daycare", so I know she'll help them make something for him. Our family Father's Day tradition is to go to the Pirate Festival in Vallejo (on the waterfront). Entry is free, but we might buy food or something. Then my husband gets to pick out a souvineer.
I will get him something unless he goes out and buys it before then and I will tell him that is his fathers day present. And the kids will do something for him.
I take a picture of our daughter (now 4) and get it put on a coffee mug. THen I help her with some sort of craft project and card for him.
I have to agree with Momma L. I'm terrible about pictures and hubby always says he wants them around the house. We will be married 3 yrs in Oct and I don't even have a wedding pic printed out! So I'm going to surprise him with a huge framed wedding pic and then an 8x10 pic of each of the kids school pics around it. He's going to be thrilled! Oh, and the kids will make him a nice card that says nice things in it. We'll go to church then out to eat at his choice. And he'll get a special treat from me later for him being such a great dad to our kids! lol!!!
We get each other birthday gifts, as well as letting each of our kids pick out a small gift...but for father's day it's ALL the kids. There's a price limit and they can pretty much get whatever they want. The best yet has been a pink toothbrush!
Because our girls are still young (all 3 are 5 and under), we still "help" with Mother's/Father's day stuff.
This year we'll make Daddy breakfast (of the girls' choosing), make a keepsake craft (last year it was a little poem I wrote surrounded by the girl's hand and foot prints) and buy him a small gift or two - something useful usually. Though this year I might let the older 2 loose to select a gift for him all on their own :o)
In the afternoon we usually go to the park or do some other family activity.
I remind him that he's a good dad, and make sure his kids remember that it's Fathers Day.
I get something for my father but not something for my husband since he's not my dad.
I also call my grandpa and tell him happy father's day.
