Fashion Crisis!

Okay, so my husand and I have a semi-fancy function to go to tonight and I bought a fabulous dress and new shoes... and this was when the weather was nice! So, not realizing that it was going to turn colder today, of course, I bought peep toe, platform pumps. So, my question is, is it totally unhip and unfashionable to wear tights with my outfit? I do not want to change my shoes b/c really they make the entire outfit so my choices are my black tights or naked legs? Which is tackier? Other options? Help!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Okay, ladies, thanks for the advice! Most of you opted for bare legs, so I think that's what I'm going to do. Yes, the event is inside, and I wasn't worried about being cold as much as I was worried about looking "inappropriate" with bare legs when it's still technically winter! And E.S. I'm glad you're such a free spirit, but I think people will notice! ;) I suppose I shouldn't care and should just go with what I feel comfortable but I wouldn't feel comfortable if I was a Fashion "don't"! Haha! Anyway, I'll suck it up and live on the wild side of naked legs, I even shaved extra close!! These shoes really are worth it!

Please please please please no tights! You rock those legs and toes and it will look great!

NOTHING is tackier than pantyhose with open toe shoes. Even leggings showing CT. Sorry, I had to add that! lol

No!!!!! Please don't wear panty hose with open toes it drives me crazy!! I say naked legs and just bear with the cold. You will be indoors anyhow, right? Have a great time :)

I'd go with naked legs, and a long coat/jacket. Make your legs nice and toasty in the car before you get out, then you'll be able to easily grin and bear it until you get indoors. :) Have fun!

I just would not wear tights with peep toes.
I guess I'd go bare legged. (Or wear different shoes.)

Have fun!

I wouldn't wear tights.

I wore sheer-toed hose with my open toed shoes last week. Tuck the seam under your toes when you pull them on and nobody can even tell. They looked great.

I just can't bring myself to go "bare-legged" at a semi-formal event.

What's wrong with pantyhose in this situation? They make a world of differance when it's cold out. I don't like pantyhose, but they are practical. If the choice is between tights oe being cold, I say option c - pantyhose. It's a good compromise.

Pantyhose are making a come back. Go get a pair. Personally, I do not like the bare leg look. I prefer pantyhose. Heck, I didn't know they were out of style until I read somewhere they were making a come back! Ha!

Assuming that you'll be inside I'd say no tights with peep toe platforms.

I live in Minnesota. We wear leg coverings in the winter! The dressier you want to be, the more sheer the tights should be, but I wouldn't go out in the winter with bare legs. (The college-aged girls do when going bar-hopping and they look ridiculous standing around shivering!!)

honeslty if its an outside function then heck yeah wear the tights.. if the shoes make the outfit i wouldnt change those.. but if its inside and your only concern is walking from the car to the place i wouldnt bother i would deal with my toes freezing til i got inside.. its not like its going to be as cold inside as it is outside

I am a free spirit and never heed to fashion advice. I say do what makes you feel most comfortable. I assure you that only you and your hubby will notice if your legs are free or enclosed :-).

Well, I know how that is and I'll be curious to see what others say.
I would wear the outfit you chose, it's not snowing. Just wear a nice coat to go with it. After all, you're going from house to event and event to home, you're inside, right? And I bet ya....there wil be ladies in sandals. I say go for it!

They make toe less tights! Heck yeah I'd wear those if it's cold, when you're uncomfortable, it shows worse than tights and peep toed shoes ;) But go get the toeless one's and you're be just fine!

I'd go with bear legs. Don't worry about the cold, you'll be inside right? Last Feb. I went to a party where semi-formal attire was worn...half the women were in short dresses and bare legs with heels. It was a bitterly cold night and I wore tights, which matched my dress but I felt under dressed.
