My fave is Hibiscus on Henderson. The food is amazing every time, and we always have great service. If you go, try the lavender vanilla ice cream. Sounds weird, but it is the most delicious thing ever!
Hi Moms,
My husband and I are planning a date night. My problem is I don't know where to go. We want a nice restaurant and something new to try. I thought maybe other mom's have recommendations for us to try out. We want a nice restaurant since we don't get date nights that much without our kids. We are open to italian, mexican, and steak restaurants. We just want something different and unique with great food. Thanks for your help!

My husband and I go here every year on the anniversary of our first date. It's called Bruno's Italian Resaturant and it's on MacArthur Blvd. and Cimarron in Valley Ranch. It's a quaint family-run place with great food and a beautiful view of the canal that's lined with twinkling white lights.

Not sure what your price range is and where you location is within Dallas, so I am going to suggest a few places. These are some of my favorites...
Cafe Ismir- Lower Greenville- Mediterranean food
Royal Thai- Old Town at Greenville and Lover's Lane- Thai
Nobu- Hotel Crescent- Japanese and sushi
Cafe Madrid- Travis at Armstrong- tapas- they also have great sangria
Il Sole- Travis Walk- Italian
Tony's Wine Warehouse- Oak Lawn- not much atmosphere since it is in the back of a wine store but they have FABULOUS food! (French and Continental)
Craft- W Hotel in Victory Park- something new to try- kind of expensive but continental food with wonderful presentation
Perry's Steakhouse- corner of Routh and McKinney- steaks and seafood
The Mercury- Preston at Forest- continental food
City Cafe- W. Lover's Lane- dark and romantic
Blue Goose- Lower Greenville- Mexican
Teppo- Lower Greenville- Japanese
Ali Baba- Lower Greenville- Mediterranean
Arcodoro Pomodoro- Routh Street- Italian
Good luck and I hope one of these works out for you
We enjoy date nights often and we dine out a lot.
As for fabulous restaurants, I'm not sure is you mean a different and unique type of food or great service as well. We love great service and great food.
If we go for steaks, our top choice is Del Frisco's (Spring Valley/Tollway) or III Forks (Trinity Mills/Tollway) then on to Ruth Chris (Trinity Mills/Tollway), Lawry's Prime Rib (Spring Valley/Tollway) and Bob's Chop House (Shops of Legacy). I have not been to Jasper's (Shops of Legacy) for dinner but I understand the Prime Rib is to die for. I have only been to the bar there.
Fogo de Chau (Midway/Beltline) is awesome and a bit unique. The salad bar is fantastic and the different cuts and different types of meats are very good. This is the place where the servers come around with a big slab of meat on big skewers and serve you. You have a little card and if you have it turned to the green side, they come serve you, when it is on the red side they do not.
Adelmo's off Knox/Cole is very good with some unusual items. Smaller place and can be cozy!
Most of the steak places we go to are pretty pricey for dinner. We also enjoy a bottle of wine so a dinner can easily be $200+ Of course you can scale that down depending on your taste.
Italian: We love Maggianos (Northpark Mall or Park/Tollway) and Patrizio in Highland Park Both of these are not priced out of control and have great food.
You didn't meantion Asian....we go to PF Changs occasionally and enjoy that.
Hibachi Rock in Allen area is very good as well. We started going there when they were just a little hole in the wall on Alma/McDermott but they now have 2 newer and larger places. One is East Bethany toward Greenville Avenue in Allen and the other is at Custer/121.
We love the new Watters Creek area as well. We don't do a lot of dinner there but Cru has a great wine bar.
There are a bunch of places I am forgetting because we go a lot so I might end up editing this.....
Happy Holidays and enjoy date night!!
I'm a cheap date I guess.
I love the Cheesecake Factory. The best lettuce wraps ever!
I really like Steel in Dallas off Oak Lawn
We love Ruth's Chris Steakhouse! It is $$$ but well worth it.
I don't know of great places in Dallas, but a fondue restaurant is always our favorite for date night. There's Simply Fondue in Arlington and the Melting Pot in Southlake. There may be a location closer to you. Other than fondue, the Cheesecake Factory is always good too.
We recently went to Devine Cellars in Coppell. It is very small like 6 tables but excellent food. We had the tapas.
Wow, great suggestions so far!
I must agree with Bob's; however, we went to the location in Grapevine. Wonderful food and impeccable service. I'm sure it's the same at all locations.
We also like Kirby's in Southlake.
Enjoy your night out!!
Not sure if you've tried the Cheesecake Factory, but my hubby and I had our last date night there and it was great. Lots of food and a big variety!
Have a great date!
I second Fogo de Chao! We were just talking about that this weekend. Love it. I think it's about $45/plate though, so go hungry and get your money's worth.
