Fabric Recycling?

Hi, all. This may seem like a strange question, but I know someone in another country who uses recycled t-shirts to make hand-made paper, so that's why I am wondering about this:

Does anyone know of any place in the metro that recycles cloth? I cleaned out my dresser the other day and have some torn up jeans and old undies and nightgowns. They're all cotton so it seems they would be able to be recycled.

What can I do next?

for jeans there is a company that uses old jeans and turns them into 'green' home insulation. Cant remember the name or if they take direct donations or what, but thought it was cool.
I know many who make quilts of old clothes.

Do you have a Freecycle group in your area? Sometimes people who need fabric for projects will ask for certain fabrics, or you can make an offer post and see if anyone answers. www.freecycle.org

That sounds like a cool thing. I would be curious to find out too. I use old torn clothes to make new things like clothes for my kids or doll clothes or little bags.

Check with your local Good Will or Salvation Army donation center. My local Good Will said they would take rags for recycling.
