Erasing Dark Circles Under Eyes

Hello moms -
I'm interested in any tips you have for erasing or covering up dark circles under the eyes. As I age, they seem to get more prominent. I don't regularly wear make-up, but would do so for this, as long as it doesn't take more than 5 minutes to accomplish (if possible!). I also don't want to spend a lot of money on make up, if I don't have to.
Thanks to all!

I never wore make up either, but after baby came the dark circles...for me it was lack of sleep (I do drink a lot of water). Kinda comes with the territory with babies and small kids ;) I use a concealer from Cover Girl, super cheap, for under eyes and blemishes, and I use a dual powder to finish. It takes about 3 minutes :) if I add mascara or any color it takes another 3 to 5 minutes. Easy peasy and it makes me look and feel so much better. I look alive! Hahaha!

Makeup doesn't get to the root cause of the dark circles.
The best way to get rid of dark circles it to treat the cause. Make sure you are getting enough sleep. Make sure you are well hydrated. Dark circles under your eyes can be caused by allergies even. I always know when I need to grab an allergy pill when I wake up in the morning and look like I got punched in both eyes LOL
If you Google causes of dark circles under eyes there are a number of medical listings with causes as well as suggestions for treating them depending on what the cause may be.

obviously eliminating the cause is best. lack of sleep is the #1 reason it happens to me, but certainly that doesn't apply to all, and i too want to deal with it in the moment when it does. i'm working again so wear light makeup fairly regularly, so i've got a concealer wand that i use if the circles are bad. i don't really like it, though, i have to be very careful so that it's not obvious.
if it's a no-makeup day, i don't do anything except moisturizer with sunscreen. too bad for the folks who have to look at me. :D

I don't believe there is a crème that makes them go away.

I use Kaplan MD and Trish McEvoy facial products and love them but they are not dark circle removers or concealers. The products I use are for basic daily skin care. I do wear light makeup daily and I use Clinique.

Like the posters below me... dark circles indicate some underlying issue such as lack of sleep, could be lack of nutrition, allergies, etc.

If I were you, I would step up my water intake. SO many people do not drink enough water and it's evident when you see your skin. I drink a boatload of water daily and to keep it fresh and interesting I add lemon or some other type of fruit in the water.

We take Zyrtec hour allergy pill every day, especially here in TX.

Maybe speak with your Dr, get a complete blood test and make sure you are not lacking somewhere.

Even if you do not wear make up, you should have a facial routine morning and night and war sunscreen daily.

Best wishes!

First try getting more sleep.
It may be that you're snoring and not getting much quality sleep and that can certainly show up as dark circles under your eyes.

Usually they recommend a concealer with a yellowish tint - I know it sounds weird, but if you put a little of that on and then your regular make-up on top, you get good coverage.

Of course, the best thing to do for circles is to address the cause. Usually they are related to allergies (they are called "allergic shiners") and are created when nasal congestion constricts the blood vessels enough to cause some pooling or accumulation of blood in nearby cavities - the eye socket is one such area. So addressing your allergies might be the best thing. I used to have pretty bad circles, even with allergy medications, but I made some changes that eliminated all my symptoms and my circles are now gone. I did the same with my son.

This can be hereditary.
Have you retire Revlon Photoready Eye Primer? Pretty awesome.
