Has anyone tried to to use an epilator to remove their leg hair? I purchased one and have used it several times and have yet to remove all of my leg hair. Does it just take a while to get the job done the first time or am I doing something wrong?

Hi,
I have a lot of (very light blond) hair on my legs. I've used a epilator for about 12 years now. In winter I usually let it grow, and now in summer I use it every 2 or 3 weeks. The first time after winter hurts like hell. But my friend who has not as much hair as I have says it doesn't hurt that much. It takes 25 min per leg (till knee hight). After the first time it just takes 10 min per leg and doesn't hurt so bad.

In my opinion it is sooo much better than shaving, the hairs that grow back are not hard like with shaving but soft. It doesn't look like your husband's chin after 2 weeks, it looks natural.

You start at the ankle and move to your knee. It's not difficult, just painfull. Like waxing.

Let me know if you have further questions.

I use the one from the sharper image store and yes it takes a while for all the hairs to be gone, but my legs stay smooth forever now. I use to have very thick dark hairs and now they are much thinner. Your hairs grow in cycles, not all the hairs grow at the same time. I use mine about once every 10 days and I sometimes shave with a razor inbetween. It is great for the bikini area, no more ingrown hairs! Don't let the hairs get too long, it works best when they are short. Whatever you do DON'T try the armpits, OUCH!

I use it for about 13 years now and love it. Would not switch to shaving in the shower. Just like the other girl said - if you let it go for months - it hurts somewhat the first time back - and then after it is not bad at all. I like that I don't have to do it daily and my legs don't feel like my husbands face if I skipped a day with a shaver :)
Well.. I would recommend it. I use Brown (brand) epilator. I probably had this one for min 7 years now and it is still working like new :)
Hope it helps

I usually start with a good shave and then do it everyday after that as the hair grows back. That way it is not at painful. It does take a while...especially if you have thick hair like I do.
