My 10 year old had her ears pierced and they were not put in straight and were too far away from her face. I have taken out her earrings and am now waiting around 6 months to have them repierced. I am hoping her piercing heals completely so as not to be noticed but I would love everyones feedback on how successful that will be. I am using a scar therapy gel so fingers crossed.

The ear piercings were in for less than three weeks

What can I do next?

I think it depends on how long they were pierced. If they have only been pierced for a little while, there should be no problem.

If it's been a few years, and they just grew out to look funny, there will likely be a very slight scar... Like, a tiny little line that you can see if you look closely... Not a big deal.

Also... Depending on how long they were pierced, it may take quite a bit longer than 6 months to heal. Mine were pierced as a baby, and when I was old enough to do earrings myself I rarely bothered to put any in and would sometimes go a year or so without them closing. Heck, I went for 3 years without putting anything in, and they were still open. I got second holes when I was 13, and they are the same way. I only wore earrings in them regularly for about 2 years before I stopped wearing earrings much. I haven worn anything in them since the Mothers Day before last, and was still able to wear earrings in them for Halloween this year. My husband had his ears pierced when he was 10, stopped wearing his earring(s) when he was 16, and his are completely closed. I wouldn't even know get were ever pierced if his mom hadn't told me. Lol.

They will close. Hopefully scar tissue will not interfere with new piercings.

My daughter was not liking her ear piercing after 6 weeks wearing the earrings. She took them out and the hole closed completely .
A year later she decided to D. it again.

I'm so sorry you and your daughter are going through this right now. I can sympathize because I was in your exact position a few years ago. I posted about it on here: http://www.mamapedia.com/questions/12888341542070255617

You can read my "So What Happened" section to get the exact details but to sum it up... they will heal! :) My daughter had them in for 4 weeks and I was sick to my stomach about the whole thing. I never thought they would heal but they did. Warning... it took about 6 months for them to look better but at this point, 3 years later, no one except for me and only if I were to hold my daughters head still and stare where I know she had the piercings would ever know she had her ears pierced. Biggest thing I did that helped was to buy a scar gel, I think it was bio oil and every night for 6 months at bedtime I would have her sit between my legs while my husband read stories and I would use the oil to massage her ear lobes. It doesn't really matter what you use as long as you massage with deep pressure to break apart any scar tissue. If you have any other questions feel free to personal message me. :) Best of luck to you both!
