Hi, I was wondering if anyone had a solution for dry erase marks on our wall! We rent an apartment and unfortunately do not have the matching paint to do a touch-up. Has anyone found a way to successfully remove such marks? [I still don't know how he even got into the drawer with the markers in it!]

Have you tried a magic eraser? I am not sure who makes it but you can get them in the cleaning isle at Walmart or Target. I know they take ink out of clothing and scuff marks off walls. Good Luck!

Funny that you mention it, I was just playing with some remedies myself for the same thing. Rubbing alcohol will dissolve the ink, but also take off some of the paint. From previous experience, I can tell you to be careful with Magic Eraser for the same reason, especially if the paint is something other than white - if the paint is thin or you rub too hard, the magic eraser will go through it.

Mr Clean Magic Eraser! My daughter is notorious for doing this. It can be used for crayons, pens, pencils, marker, dry erase, dirty handprints, finger paint-the list goes on! I've found even generic works well.

Magic Eraser, but definately go lightly at first. It will take off the paint if you press too hard.

Hi Steela,
The Mr. Clean magic eraser worked for me. You can wet it or use it dry. Find it in the cleaning product isle.

Unfortunately, my budding artists constantly write on the walls when I'm not looking. There is a product for $1 called "Awesome" at the Dollar Tree. It is a yellow solution in a clearish bottle with red writing. I explain it this way because I noticed they have several other Awesome brand products there now. It can be found with all the cleaning supplies at Dollar Tree. The bottle reads "LA's Totally AWESOME all purpose concentrated cleaner, degreaser spot remover". I never dilute it, just use it full strength.

I now use it in place of the high price pre treatment products for my laundry. This stuff removed ink (with a little work) from clothing!

Hope this info helps!

Try Mr Cleans magic eraser. When we rented our apartment I used it for everything. Never had marker on the wall though so I am not sure that it works but it is worth a shot. Good Luck to you.

I'm not sure if this will work, but I know to get permanent marker off of a whiteboard you can use rubbing alcohol. I'm not sure if it would work similarly on a wall without damaging the paint, but you could a small spot to just to see how they react. Good luck!!

Try wiping with pure vinegar. It's totally natural, cheap, and the dry erase should come right out without scrubbing. (Try a very small section first, to make sure your paint doesn't come off, too!)
