Hope it's the one you're looking for, Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving.
Last year, I found a receipe for Green Bean Casserole that I loved but I have misplaced it and can not find it online now. It's not the typical one w/ the cream of mushroom and french onions (we hate that one). This one is more like a green beans w/ a special touch than a true casserole. What I remember is Green Beans, Shredded Cheddar Cheese, Whipping Cream, and Cayenne Pepper. I know I have to bake it. What I don't remember is how much of each ingredient, if I am forgetting something, and how long or at what temperature to bake it. Are any of you mamas familiar with this recipe? I want to make it Thursday.
Thanks for the replies so far but these are not the ones. If there was any ingredient I am forgetting, I am sure it isn't but one or two and it is definately NOT onions or cream of mushroom. I have tried All Recipes website (because that is where I thought I found it in the first place but having no luck today.
Thanks again. I finally found it so I will share:

I don't have that recipe, but I do have a delicious green bean and corn casserole that our whole family absolutely adores, and it sounds similar to yours. The recipe as follows will fill an 8x8" or 9x9" square pan; double it for a 9x13" casserole (I don't think you need to double the crackers, though).
CORN AND GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE
1 can French cut green beans, drained
1 can niblet corn, drained
1 can cream of celery or mushroom soup
8 oz sour cream
1 cup grated mild cheddar cheese
1 medium onion, diced small
1 sleeve Club Crackers
1/2 cup butter
1 dash seasoned salt
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except crackers and butter. Place mixed ingredients in a casserole dish (do not have to grease dish). Crush crackers over top. Melt butter and drizzle over top.
Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes (uncovered)
I'd look at allrecipes.com. You can put in the ingredients to narrow down the recipes. Don't worry, you'll find it on there....
This is similar to your recipe and one posted below but a little different. My SIL who will not eat traditional green bean casserole loves this:
Green Beans and Corn for a Crowd
2 16 oz. cans french style green beans
1 17 oz. can white corn
1 5 oz. can sliced water chestnuts
1 8 oz. carton sour cream
1 can cream of celery soup
3 tbsp. mayo
1/3 c. chopped onion
1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 stacks of Ritz crackers
few pads of butter (to dot casserole with)
Drain first 3 ingredients and layer them in a lightly buttered casserole dish - dot with butter. Mix next 5 ingredients and pour over veggie mix. Crush Ritz crackers (make into bread crumbs). Melt butter and mix with Ritz crackers. Cover casserole with cracker/butter mixture. Bake at 325 for 40 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Yield 10 - 12 servings.
NOT HEALTHY but great Thanksgiving food! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
