I'm not originally from Texas but I love it here! I also love cowboy boots but am a little hesitant to wear them since I never really see anyone else wearing them. Do native Texas moms really wear cowboy boots? Maybe I just don't go out at boot-wearing time, since I mostly ever go to Target or the grocery during the middle of the day! I just picked up a pair of Frye's cowboy boots (very traditional, western style--nothing eye-popping) at the thrift store that I think are pretty awesome. If you do wear boots, what do you wear them with? I really want to wear them, but I don't want to look like a tourist in my new country!

I constantly wear my lizard skin cowboy boots. I love them! The key is to not go all country... Like don't go out and get a prairie skirt. :-P You can slip on any pair of jeans that are boot cut and cover the heel with any cute little shirt. I would not suggest wearing cowboy boots with a skirt unless you are 25 and under... after that, it's just silly. :) Have fun with them and as long as you feel hot in them, strut it!
I have three pairs of Justin ropers. I don't wear them much anymore, but I used to. I have friends who wear theirs still. I think the key is wearing them properly. Don't try to jazz up the outfit or wear a conflicting style... keep it simple. Make sure your jeans are long enough over them.
It's been a while since you wrote your request but, WELCOME to TEXAS! Cowboy boots go great with a pair of cute jeans and a t-shirt. Only dress it up with a plain button up shirt if you must. :) Like everyone before me said, keep it simple!
