I've been having problems for the last three summers when the weather is hot and humid. I get faint and dizzy, and my head feels completely congested. I often end up just lying all day feeling too ill to stand up. Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do?

What can I do next?

It sounds like a sinus infection from allergies. It could also be an inner ear infection. I would see a doctor you may need antibiotics. These can be monsterous. It should be a simple thing to get rid of but sinus and inner ear infections can get really bad and cause the dizziness and tiredness.

You can try drinking massive amounts of chamomile tea. The tea removes toxins from the body. It makes you sweat and pee a lot, in 2-3 days you feel so much better. But drinking hot tea on a hot day is not easy.

Steam / aka high humidity is one of my sons triggers for breathing issues (similar to asthma, but he doesnt wheeze, his lungs just start swelling and collapsing in places). He's not getting enough o2 to he gets dizzy, tired, and either cranky or goofy.

It's not a standard trigger for asthma (he's quirky, smoke, perfumes, etc he's fine with, but steam and humidity get him every time.) it's less noticeable in baths and indoor pools, but a whole day of it weather wise has us in the ER. God forbid anyone try to use a humidifier when he's sick!!!

Moist air helps a lot of people breathe, but it messes really severely with some. I'm one of this people. I have a hard time breathing in moist air, as well, but nowhere near as badly as he does.

Ditto Riley J.

I have Asthma and will get like that in damp/hot/heavy humid aired places. Even at Halloween in a haunted house venue, it can effect me when they have those dry ice mist machines to make special effects and there is no air ventilation.

Or, you have a Sinus Infection.

I am sitting here feeling awful with the same symptoms. I feel a sinus headache coming on, facial pressure...I feel like my head a bowling ball. My face is slightly swollen too. I always get like this when it's hot and humid, and the only thing I can do is sit in a cool room. That's the only thing that works.
