Disney has 4 theme parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom. At Disney, you can buy Park Hopper tickets to visit more than one park a day. Each park offers something special for the holidays so you might want to research what you want to see most. All of the theme parks (inc Universal Parks) are crowded during the holidays, but it is really a unique experience. I would spend 2 days at Disney, unless someone has their heart set on seeing the Harry Potter exhibit at Universal. The parks are crowded, but the only park that usually shuts down is the Magic Kingdom on Christmas day because many families want to take their kids on Christmas morning. Have a wonderful trip!

Be aware that Universal actually has two parks - Universal and Islands of Adventure. Once you get there, will your kids be disappointed if they don't get to do both?

Two days is very tight for either Disney or Universal, even on their own. I'm keen to visit both brands when people visit Orlando from far away, but in your circumstance I think I'd stick to one brand. The one caveat to that is if you have a kid who is dead set on seeing the Harry Potter stuff at Islands, and then another kid who yearns for Magic Kingdom. At that point I would try to cover both but make it clear to my kids that we will barely scratch the surface as far as some of the things they will be able to see and do.

Good luck.

Personally, I am a huge Disney fan, so I would say Disney. During the Christmas season, they have Mickey's Christmas Party on select nights at Magic Kingdom (extra money) and then Hollywood Studios has the Osbourne Family's holiday light show at night, which is really spectacular. You can either visit just 1 park per day, or upgrade to a park hopper which will allow you to visit more than 1 park per day.

I would decide quick and buy tickets before you get here, all the parks close the week of Christmas (they ALL fill to capacity).

I would go to Magic Kingdom two days and skip Universal (which has two parks), unless your kids are really into Harry Potter then just visit Islands of Adventure. One day is just not enough to see much that time of year.

I would say Disney. If u have never been to the Magic Kingdom before, it could 2 days to see everything ! The Electric Parade is so beautiful. There is sooo much to see during Christmas ! Your girls are at the perfect age to wait in the lines and do all that walking !!

I love Epcot. The lines could be long---because there are not alot of rides there ! Soarin' is my favorite ride followed by Fast Track !

We were there in July ----and spent an entire day @ Animal Kingdom !! The Lion King Show is so wonderful !!

Although, I am not a fan of Hollywood Studios. The only thing I like there is the Italian Restaurant ...Mama Melroses.

I would not go to Universal. I am a big Disney person !

Disney. There's so much to do, there's no way you can see Disney World in 2 days, much less 1 day.

I live near Disney. I haven't taken my kids to Universal yet. We do Disney every year or two.

That's really a personal preference, but if you don't plan on being back down here for a while, I would check out both parks.
