I'm taking a few medications on a regular basis and am trying to find out if there are any discounts for those without insurance and where to find them? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

If you live near a Costco, you should call their pharmacy and ask how much they charge for those prescriptions. Usually, their prices are significantly lower than most pharmacies. You do not have to be a Costco member to use their pharmacy.

Look up RxOutreach.org and see if they carry some of the meds you are on.

I'm not sure what meds your on, but you can check with the drug company that makes your meds, for some of them can offer a discount as well, or even sometimes for free if you qualify. Best of luck.

Not sure about discounts, but most grocery stores do free gift cards with new or transfer prescriptions --all the time. This might help to offset the costs. You could bounce the prescriptions among a few stores --all the big box grocery chains do it.

I second Walgreens. I think it's $20 for their Rx card, and then you get your scripts at a really good discounted rate. I didn't have Ins for a while, and my monthly script for my thyroid med, without ins was $12.99 for 30 day supply (not a lot, I know) but, with the Walgreens card, I was getting a 90 day supply for only $12.00. Worth it.

Walgreens has a program. You have to sign up yearly and they use it on the pills my insurance won't pay. Also, if you can stand waiting in line, Sams has some big discounts.

Check with the pharmacy, also... I know here in Williamson county they have a plan to help people pay for prescription meds, and you don't need to have a particular card.

For a while, I also used the "TogetherRX" prescription card... free, and it reduced costs by 10-25%, usually...
