I have used AFLAC in the past with excellent results. And get the extra disability insurance, the peace of mind is well worth it.

I haven't used AFLAC but we use The Standard for disability insurance. All in all, it's a good idea. For peace of mind if nothing else. Good luck!
I haven't used AFLAC, so I can't provide you with any feedback on them. Can you obtain any disability insurance through your profession? For example, I am a CPA so I purchase long-term disability insurance through one of the CPA organizations. A lot of times it's cheaper if you go through a professional organization, plus they use the "own occupation" criteria for determining if you're disabled. Meaning if I can't work as a CPA, but I could still work flipping burgers at a fast food restaurant, I am considered disabled and eligible for benefits. I'd recommend you check with any professional or trade organizations you could join or are already a member of to see if they offer insurance. Compare rates, benefits and how the policy defines disabled before you make your decision. Good luck!
Yes get the extra disability. THe state will alo pay but after your insurance for the disability runs out. If your are the main breadwinner and may need to be out, then definately get it. Also look at hospital confinement supplemental insurance AFALC may have a different name (I go through Colonial Insurance which you can only get through a job) but hospital confinement will pay you for the days that you will be in the hospital with your C-section. A lady in my office just had a baby and had both of those, it will pay you for your time in the hospital regardless if you health insurance pays for the whole bill or not. It is extra, supplemental above and beyond your regular health insurance. This all can be very confusing. You will be taxed on it becasue the IRS considers it as income or if you do have remaining bills to the hospital AFLAC can make the check out to the hospital and you wont have to pay taxes on it as income. If you have any further questions, I can help or as your AFLAC representative. Good Luck.
