Fogo De Chao, it's a Brazilian steak house, the food is out of this world! The salad bar alone is outstanding, and you could easily make a meal out of that alone. It is on Hennepin Ave in the Block E neighborhood. They have a website to check it out and read customer comments and reviews too.

Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse in downtown Minneapolis is GREAT! They have the chefs who prepare all sorts of crazy stuff for you right before your eyes. It's a great time if you have a big group or if it's just the two of you. The chefs are talented cooks as well as entertainers. You can eat as much weird stuff as you want, or stick to what you know. There is also sushi there. I highly recommend this as a fun place to go with excellent cuisine. Good luck!

Chino Latino in Minneapolis actually prepares guinea pig. No kidding! You need to give them notice (I think it's 48 hours) if you are going to order the guinea pig because they need time to prepare it. I have heard it is very good. Maybe you could order it ahead of time and go there and surprise your husband. They do have a terrific menu full of other great meals as well.

Try Babalu Resteraunt in Mpls: http://www.babalu.us/

It's carribbean cuisine and it's really yummy. They are the only resteraunt that I know of that makes Paella which is a spanish/carribbean dish of rice, mixed with lots of seafoods like squid or calamari and includs clams and muscles in the shells. (You have to dig the clam or muscle out of the shells with your teeth...very yummy and my husband and I have only ever gotten it in Spain, until now. It is a little expensive, but worth the money.

You could try sushi, but find a good one...not just any sushi resteraunt will do...sushi has to be good fish for it to be good. Try Kikigawa in Mpls or Saji Ya in St. Paul. Even Beni Hana makes good sushi.
