Yup...

It is an act of democracy that I am proud and privileged to take part in.

I didn't care about what was on the ballot but I have O. voice...and I want it heard. If I don't voice it at the ballot then I can't use my voice to complain...that is how I personally feel.

Good luck and best wishes!

Trying to pick my favorite politician is like trying to decide which STD is just right for me. I haven't voted yet because there's nothing to vote on here but when I do it's going to feel like pulling teeth.

Did you not see my post yesterday?! Of COURSE I voted. My voice needs to be heard. It is my civic duty to vote. I can't complain about the system if I don't let my voice be heard!!

I voted by mail a week ago. LOVE voting by mail – I get to sit with my voter's pamphlet and consider the issues and arguments in depth. I haven't missed an election for years; I figure if you don't participate in elections, you have very little grounds for complaining about policies or elected officials.

No. I do usually but we did not have anything to vote on. I have voted since I was 18...I'm glad I get a say...may not always go my way but at least my voice can be heard.

I'll let you in on a secret. Each and every time I've voted (129 at last count) I've LOST. Each. And. Every. Single. Time.

Every initiative.
Every primary.
Every levy.
Every gubernatorial
Every house and senate seat
Every presidential election

So whether or not I vote, and WHOM I vote for, I keep very very secret ;) Because I'm a jinx. An honest to god, jinx.

((Over 20,000 mail in ballots were "lost in the mail" this election, though... so it will be interesting here, to see what happens.))

YES! I voted to allow Sunday alcohol sales from stores (they can already sell after 12:30 from bars). WOW, Atlanta city may finally jump into this century!

We also voted on a SPLOST -1% tax. While I understand those against it arguing that our less than stellar school board needs to come up with better reasons it needs money for a shrinking school system, I know they ARE going to get the money somehow, and my property taxes are already sky high. All of the people who come into the city and use our infrastructure can contribute through sales tax in my opinion, so I voted YES.

Yes. I have a sub at my home daycare this afternoon and it was the first thing I went to do! Just a school board member, then 3 school referendums I feel strongly about. I think there is a record setting number of them in our state or something this time around? Dunno, but I did mine and git my little red "i voted' sticker!

I did this morning.
The ballot was weird.
Only the incumbents were listed and if you wanted anyone else you had to write them in.

Nope. This is the first election that I have sat out in 20 years. My reason is because I did not know any of the candidates running for the school board.

Not yet...although I can not say I am too motivated. The candidates I vote for never seem to win anyway so they'd probably prefer I stay away from the polls.

I did although there wasn't anything "dramatic" on our ballot here in Texas. It was all the usual...tax raising, some amendment to leverage water utilties, and O. to limit elected officials time of service should they be caught doing something bad!

I love reading all these moms voting! Girl power!!!

No, because there was nothing on the ballot.

I always vote, even if it is just plain vs peanut. This is the first time we have ever just not had anything on the ballot.

Yeah - I have to check if results are up yet. I want our damn leaf pickup back - that totally influenced MY vote. Nothing I loooooove better than hauling 60 bags of leaves to the dump - except maybe spending $600 - $800 for someone else to do it.

They've replaced our old voting booths with electronic ballots and I'm none too impressed. Next year's election is going to be a zoo at our voting place.
