I am looking for a dermatologist who can provide a wide array of treatment for acne on dark skin without immediately jumping to writing a prescription for my child.

Dr. Neal Peters of Mercy Medical Center (55th Pulaski) is very nice and excellent. If he doesn't see children I'm sure he could refer to someone who does.

You might want to try U. of C. They have a child's dermatology section and we didn't have to wait 3-6 months to get an appointment. Not sure how they would respond regarding medication or not, but they did a good job with both our biological daughter's very pale caucasian skin (tween) and our adopted daughters' very dark skin (toddlers).
