Delaying Cycle for Vacation?

So, it turns out I am going to start my period around the first or second day of our beach vacation. That is the last thing I wanted, but I just counted it out. lol I'm hoping you guys can give me some ideas to change that. I think I could take birth control to mess with the date, but I'd rather not go to the doctor just to get 1 pack of pills. Is their any alternative to this?

What can I do next?

same thing happened to me with my last 2 vacations - I think the stress of thinking I was going to be on my period the entire time kept me from starting until the last day of vacation.......

Are you already on the pill? If you are, you can skip the placebo pills this one time. If you are not, I would talk to your doctor about going on the pill because many women are not happy the first few months on the pill because there is often an adjustment time. If you do get your period, I get that it can be a damper on sex but it shouldn't effect the rest of your vacation if you wear a tampon and bring some advil for cramps.

Hmmm, the only other thing I can think of is to get pregnant now--that should take care of getting your period during the trip :)

Only thing I know of that will surely do it for you is using birth control pills. You have to weigh what it will be like for you being on your period while on vacation versus not. For me, it would be a big enough deal for me to go to the doctor and get a prescription even for just that little bit of time. That way I could wear what I wanted, have sex if I wanted all without concern or discomfort or bloating. Best wishes. Happy vacationing!

ETA: I had an aunt that always had more drinks during her period, to get it over with. I'm not sure you want to booze it up in an effort to prevent menses though. I don't even know that it'll be surefire or how to do it. Just letting you know though.

I had been off the pill for many years and decided to go back on it. It took me 3 months before my period was on schedule again. I bleed for two weeks straight the first two months until my body got use to the hormones in my system. If you are doing this just for your vacation, I say just suck it up and deal with having your period on your vacation. It is not worth messing up your system. I wound up going off the pill after the third month because it messed up my system so much and took me another 6 months to get back to a normal schedule.

I am always on it for vacation. It totally sucks, I know. In fact, this year was going to be period free for me but no, my cycle had to change its dates by coming at normal time in January and showing up 2 weeks later. You have to weigh your options if it would actually be worth it to go on birth control for that. If you are already on birth control, you could skip those last pills and start the next pack.
If its about the sex, buy a dark red towel or two and lay it on the bed. That way the blood stays on the towel and you cant see the blood on the towel.

Can you reschedule for the next week? I know if you already made reservations, you probably can't change them.

If you have time to adjust it I would ask the doc how to best change the cycle. If not then I would say that messing with it too close would only make the spotting and bleeding through even more unpredictable and annoying. You might talk to the doc about a different style, some only have a period every few months.
