Decorating Fabric Box

You could applique her name with fabric letters. Go to your local fabric store and buy some fusible webbing (wonder under, steam a seam, stitch witchery) and some cute small print fabric. Follow the directions on the fusible webbing and then iron the letters to the fabric box. I've seen this method used on Pinterest to applique letters to the wall. You could also add some ric rac, other trim or jewels butuse fabric glue not Elmers. I don't like fabric paint. My hands just aren't steady enough and I always make a mistake or smear it and then am stuck with it. Here is a link to a tutorial to applique fabric to a wall. Have fun!

Go for puffy fabric paint! It will stand out much more than paint pens. Your craft store should have a fabric and fabric paint section (be sure it's fabric paint and not regular craft paint). Be sure to get paint labeled "dimensional" or "puffy" paint if you want it to stand up off the surface and have a raised, 3-D effect. This type comes in small tubes/bottles. Do be sure to experiment a little with it on another surface first because it can come out in a sudden blob the first time you squeeze the little tube or bottle! Then use it like a pen to write her name or draw. You can get a lot of great colors, so you might want to add some flowers or other designs around her name. You also could use fabric glue to glue on anything you want -- appliques, patches, plastic "jewels" from the craft store, etc. Be sure she helps! You will both have fun. In fact get a couple of the cubes if they're cheap and decorate a couple to switch out through the year! Ask a craft store employee for help finding the right paing. Enjoy!

I love Janet Ms suggestion. with fabric paint, if you don't use it enough it looks sloppy and smudged - I do like paint pens, though, if you can't get the fabric letters

Tons of stuff out there for you to use. If your worried about your own skill level go to Micheals or Jo Anne's and there will be all kinds of precut letters and pictures and clip art. I really like the Martha Stewarts craft supplies, they just work for me. I do craft but have no intention of buying some crazy machine to cut the 20 things out I need a year so I just buy them. Invest in a cheap glue gun. I have a small/mini one, think I paid 8$ for it 3 years ago and it works just as good as a big one and its easier to keep the kids away from. You can get some laminate sheets. They have one that all you do is stick what you want in and it seals itself, pretty cool in my opinion. Have your daughter look through magazines to pick out her favorite things or whatever. Laminate and glue. Get pre-cut out letters for her name and other things she likes. Oh yeah, dollar stores and dollar generals ect. are gold mines! Seriously, go to the teacher area or home decorating area and you will find all kinds of cool stuff. I get my kids and nieces/ nephews stick on wall art all the time from there. Giant stickers that they can decorate their rooms with that don't damage walls... Love em. Totally went off on a tangent... Anyway, you really don't need to be crafty, but you can give everyone the appearance your crafty. Good luck!
