Dark Cirlces Under Eyes

I have horrible dark circles under my eyes that make me look so tired and wore out. They are there every single day, all day. Working with a busy flooring company and meeting with clients on a daily basis, I always try to look my best. These circles are really starting to get to me. Does anyone have any ideas on getting rid of them, or concealing them?

What can I do next?

Hey amanda ... I am 27 years old and I have had really bad circles under my eyes since I was born. They get so bad that I have been asked if I get ruffed up over the years. I am now a mommy and my daughter has them to. I have tried everything. I have been to the doctors and they said there is nothing I can really do its allergies.

The Doctor told me get more sleep take more vitamins that should work for you since its not a permanant thing...feel lucky I cant get rid of mine...lol

Hey Amanda, Caroline has the right idea except she has the wrong color. A makeup in a small square container by Physicians Formula (you can get it at walgreens or cvs and many other locations) seems to work best for me. But it is not green, it is yellow. Green works on dark spots and blemishes on the face but yellow neutralizes the dark color under the eyes. You can apply regular makeup right over the yellow eye makeup. Hope it helps

I use to sell Mary Kay-they use to have a product to help that. I don't know any off hand in the area. The web address is www.marykay.com. There you can browse to see what they have. To help cover them up, use a concealer. It should be pretty close to your real skin color, or a little lighter. When you put the concealer on, only put in the dark area. If you go outside the actual area it will not work. If you dont like Mary Kay, go to the mall to a Cli-nic counter and see what they can suggest. I have dark circles from lack of sleep.

go find a yellow concealer. it is made to cover up blue tones does great for under eye circles. dab it on never rub it. then put on your cover up. you should look great. now green is for red tons in skin so its best for blemishes and whatnot. good luck.

AD,
I also have dark circles under my eyes from severe allergies, a sleep problem, and tiny blood vessels breaking.

I use Vita K's solution for Dark Circles under the eyes daily and Neutrogena concealer which both work great.

They can both be purchased at CVS Pharmacy stores or Walmart.

The Vita K is about $16.oo at CVS but it takes a very small amount and it lasts me about two months or more. All you need to do is to place the pad of your clean finger lightly in the gel and then gently dab under the eye.
I hope this helps.

I have this problem and living here in Florida it is not always a good idea to apply any liquid or concealer foudation since it melts or you keep having to reapply powder over it.

She gave me Youngblood powder & blush. It is mineral based and you just dab the powder on the spots & undereye circles you are trying to get rid of. Then just use a brush and apply a small amount all over your face and a very, very small amount of blush and you are done! It doesn't melt, I don't ever need to reapply. But, a word of warning the blush stays where you put it! Don't apply too much! :) I love it! Now if I could just find a good mascara that didn't smudge or melt!

Most of the time dark circles under the eyes are caused by a Vitamin K defeciency. You can get Vitamin K suplements at the drug store, a grocery store. Also, what works well is putting on a concealer that has a green tint to it, and then applying your foundation or powder over that. I know it sounds weird, but somehow the green actually makes the area appear lighter. Hope this helps, and good luck!!

I use a product made by Max Factor, it comes in a lipstick tube and it's white. They have other shades if you are afraid of looking like a raccoon but the women in my family and I have been using white under our eyes since we were old enough to wear make up. I dab the white "lipstick" under my eyes and then on the upper lids. I then work it into my skin with my middle finger. To conceal the whiteness a bit, I use powder applying it just under the lower lid and upper cheeck where I've applied the concealer and to the sides of my face, cheek to eye. This seems to smooth out any flaws.

The whole concept of the white is like painters using "Gesso" so if you are familiar with that, it won't seem so weird. You can try the more conventional approach of foundation but my aunts, my mom, and myself have all reaped the benefits of using white as our concealer (we used to use a product called "White White" by Maybelline but they have discontinued it).

After you have applied the concealer and the powder then you can put on your eyeshadow...I suggest soft colors. You will see that your eyes are now much brighter. Even without shadow, sometimes I will just gently brush some blush around my lids to even out all the color and I look refreshed and healthy.

Max Factor is getting hard to come by but you can still purchase it at K Mart. The product that I am talking about is about $4.50. Again, it is white and in a lipstick tube.
Good luck to you!

I used to have the same problem under my eyes- my sister and I lovingly referred to them as "the family bags". I started using a product called NutriminC RE9. It has kojic acid in it- which is a natural skin lightener and it has really helped with my dark circles. I loved the product so much that I started working for the company. Let me know if your interested, I'll send you some samples!

I had problems with dark circles also. I started to do research and talk to my doctor about it. Rest is the key. Also nutrients. I found that a part of my problem was that I was missing some very important nutrients from my body. I was demanding a lot from my body and not putting enough back in. I suggest that you do not use lightners and bleachers under your eye area. What they do is they cover but don't get to the source. I had to treat from the inside out and find a way to get more rest. I also begin using skin care products that are all natural and have supplement strength vitamins in them along with nourishing plant extracts that absorb right into your skin. Have you ever heard of Nicole Miller skin care an cosmetics? I can show you how to get them at 30%-40% less than department store costs. Remember talk to your doctor also.

If you are interested in finding out more, call or email me.

Well, what make up do you use? If you use a liquid foundation, you can just apply that to the area under your eyes and that should help conceal the circles. A concealer that matches your skin tone can also help if the foundation isn't enough.

Remember to be very gentle with your under-eye area, apply anything with the inside of your ring finger, which applies the least pressure.

I happen to be an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay, feel free to check out my website for more ideas, www.marykay.com/rebeccagonzalez

Hope that helps!

Hi Amanda, I had dark circles under my eyes for awhile and finally I went to the dr. I had a very serious sinus infection. I doubt that's what going on with you but it wouldn't hurt to see a doctor. It could be something that could be helped with medication. Good Luck.

I use AVON - there is a product called Lighten Up - it actually lessens the bruising under your eyes. It's the kind of thing where you really don't notice it working - just all of sudden the dark circles aren't there any more. ~ T.
