I need some friendly womanly advice on what to do.... Got off depo aug 06 well starting this year in feb i have been spotting once a month. Now the last time I went to the doc (july of this year) my doc said that the spotting i get for two days is my period and its been coming between 35-42 days. So from may-july it was about 47 days so then i predicted i would get something by aug 29 which would then be about 47 days (didnt get it) so now we are going on the second week of sept and still no sign of aunt flo....
my question is: Is there anything i can take to jump start these cycles so i can get them somewhat normal? MY doc suggested chlomid when my fiancee and i want to start trying to have a 3rd baby. Could I take clomid now? I mean w/ my periods being so irregular would the clomid help?
oh and i cant take any form of birth control cept depo (which i was on) and the iud. And that is cuz of a blood clotting issue that i have. MY doc said i shouldnt go on the iud right now cuz it mite screw my system up even more right now. I am tired of waiting this out and trying to figure out gee will i get a cycle soon.. Need advice?
oh and i am definally not PREGNANT!!

I was on depo as well before trying to get pregnant our 2nd time. I must first say that after being on depo and trying to conceive afterwards I find it to be one of the most evil forms of birth control out there. It completely screws up your system. I did end up having to go on clomid to get my cycles normal and to get my eggs to actually drop. Now, depending on the dose your doc puts you on there is always a chance for multiples, which if you are OK with that then go for it. I was ok with it, which is a good thing because 3 months later I got pregnant with my now beautiful 3 year old boy twins. So, I guess to answer your question (maybe?) clomid was the only way to get my eggs to drop and my cycle went to 28 days almost right away. I do want to add that it was about 16 months after my last depo shot, and according to the very very small disclaimer when you get it that the longer that you are on it the longer it will take to get pregnant again, from between 6 months and 2 years before your cycle gets back to normal. If you have been on it for a while it might take a while to get back, even with the clomid. I have had the IUD since the birth of my twins and I love it. If you want to talk more about this at all please feel free to email me anytime!
my knowledge of clomid is that it helps you ovulate with an egg to help you get pregnancy...at least this is what i used it for. i am unsure if it is used to regulate your cycle....i was going to suggest going on the pill for a few months, until i read your last sentence....IMO, clomid would be a good option for you to use to help get pregnant when ready. it sucks when you cant understand what your body is doing! BTW...could you be pregnant right now??
I have some experience with Clomid- and it could make things more regular - but it will cause other things too that you might not want.
- cycles still could be longer than "normal"
- you could ovulate more than one egg - ok if you want to get PG again, and are fine with the thought of twins
- annoying side effects like hot flashes, moodiness, nausea, and dizziness
I was on clomid for a while, and it was no picnic. There were days I was an emotional mess!
Stress, a poor diet or excessive exercise could also be the cause of your whacked out cycles. You sound busy with a 1 and a 2 year old- it could be your body's response to this, even if you don't feel stressed.
I would think twice before taking hormones to regulate your schedule...
I dont have experience with clomid, but if you are not in a rush for # 3 just do "it" every-other day, and that way you wont need meds or miss your "O" day.
I do feel strong about IUD's simply from this statement that most cancer comes from low grade inflamation, and thats what IUD's do....Good Luck
