Do you or anyone you know have this disease? If so, how was it diagnosed? Symptoms? Treatments? any and all info would be appreciated. I have done some research on my own, but I would like to get some input from some of you as well

ETA: in adults not children. sorry, I should have been more specific

What can I do next?

my son was tested for cushings in 07 and the pedi scared the mess out of me over it ( we have changed docs). My son was over weight and pre diabetic and had the classic "hump" back or so she said. It is diagnosed with a blood test and its has to do with the creatine in the body associated with the pituitary gland. I was told environment, hereditary. As well as tumors can cause it. So after I had the word tumor I was terrified. He was just fine and when I got to my new pedi she said its easily controlled with a med that controls the creatine. It is controllable with good doc care. Good luck mama"

I had Cushings Syndrome. Different. It was an adenoma (tumor) attached to my adrenal gland usually benign. Once it was found and then removed... my life was back to normal well after some steroids and about a year of hormonal changes...My blood sugars were getting higher, my blood pressure was going up as was my weight... It was found because I started having back pain and it was radiating down my leg so an MRI was done of my back and not only did I have a bulging disk, they saw this adenoma which led to more tests. Ct scans and lab tests both urine and blood... but now 2 years later blood sugar, blood pressure and weight down. I lost 30 lbs very quickly after the adenoma was removed. I went off insulin within 2 mos of the surgery. I do not know if the symptons are the same but the treatments are different.

Talk to your pcp. There are symptoms that are hard to identify. You will probably get a referral to an endocrinologist for more testing. Typically salivary and urine cortisol levels, also MRI. Most cases I've seen come through the practice I work in end up with surgery to help and then maintenance medication. Cushing's isn't very common so it sometimes takes a lot of tests to confirm that's shat it might be.
