CT Scan, MRI, and EEG, Oh My!

I just want to start by saying that I know a diagnosis cant be made online and Ill note that Drs appts are happening galore however I havent been to any of these appts and the person that this medical stuff is happening to is extremely close to me but very very vague as to what is said and they also dont ask questions so Im left to try to piece things together myself until the 'final" results come in. I just recently found out that X had an episode of weird visions and then felt extremely nauseous. They told their family Dr who then set up a CT scan, MRI, EEG and an extensive eye exam. They told me that the Dr said the CT scan came back with two dark 'shadows' and that the EEG read abnormal but that the Family Dr couldnt elaborate and the Neurologist would have to get all the tests results to make a diagnosis hopefully. Anyway, I understand full well that not knowing yet is probably the best because really whats the point of speculating, playing dr or just flat out worrying about the worst case scenario when we dont know but Im me and I cant NOT worry. Like I said this person is extremely close to me and a piece of me would die if I lost them. I guess this isnt really a question but more of a relief for me to get it out but any helpful and incouraging words or maybe similar HAPPY situations would be more than welcome right now

Thanks in advance

I recently had a breast abnormality. I was sure it was cancer and was terrified. After all the anxiety and tests were done, turns out it was a very common benign growth.

I totally understand where you are coming from. We all fear for our own health as well as the health of our loved ones.

Take comfort in the fact that your loved one has addressed this immediately and is doing all the right things, instead of hoping it didn't actually happen and hoping it won't happen again, and doing nothing. Your loved one is doing everything they can, and quickly, which is setting him/herself up for the best outcome that is possible.

Things are rarely as bad as we envision them to be. All my best.

Baby Doo:

Has "X" been in a car accident recently or suffered a head trauma at some point in "X's" life? Shadows TYPICALLY indicate lesions...which could be left over from a head trauma....it could be an aneurysm.

I wouldn't play doctor. I would wait and let "X" tell you what is going on. Tell "X" that you are there to support and help however you can, but don't speculate. If you googled this - you would come up with a 1,000 hits and none of them good.

So, if you pray - pray for your friend. Pray that their health will correct itself without any major issues...it could be something...it could be nothing...well, I won't say nothing...it could have been temporary!!

My oldest daughter went from having a ct scan to having an mri & an eeg done when she hit a block of ice sleigh riding. Turned out she had a blood bleed in her brain which ended up resolving itself w/medication (no need for surgery). She had bad migraines for quite a while & ended up having a section 504 w/the school because of this but went about a year & a half off of her medication w/no symptoms. You will be in our thoughts and prayers and if you need anything you can always email me as we did quite a bit of reading up on things. It is very scary to go thru this (the scariest I think was when she was admitted the pediatric neuro unit for a spinal tap, but there we saw how grateful we really needed to be considering how worse off some of those children were). Stay strong and as hard as it is, stay positive for your loved one.
