My son just turned 7 last week. He has a metal crowns on some of his tooth. I have taken him to his dentist about 4 weeks ago and she said he's all good; however im having an anxiety over these metal objects in his mouth. im just wondering, do they come out on their own when the new tooth is ready to come out or by my son's dentist? Thank you.
Best to ask the dentist this. I don't think I would worry about this if I were you. They've been doing this for a long time. At least they didn't remove the tooth and you have a space with a hole there, so that he has to eat on the other side of his mouth all the time. Plus, his teeth would all shift and you'd be guaranteed braces.
Talk to the doc about your concerns - he is the expert.

My son had one or two "baby crowns" on his baby teeth.....
They just came out with the regular ones, no problem. It was a couple of his molars, so they didn't come out until he was older... I don't remember how old.
We didn't have near the problems with his permanent teeth that we did with his baby teeth, also.
my grandson had a metal crown on a baby tooth. The tooth fell out just as if it weren't crowned and the permanent tooth grew in.
Most pediatric dentist's use white fillings. So the teeth look more natural.
His teeth should be falling out very soon if they are baby teeth. IF they are adult teeth then he's stuck until a he gets the crowns removed and white ones in their place.
