I have used it many times with great success! I would suggest always meeting in a public place to exchange goods...
I have some things that I would like to sell, and was considering craigslist. Has anyone posted stuff there? I just can't figure it out. Do I mail my stuff to people and hope they pay me? Or do I meet them somewhere? Has anyone had any success?

I've never posted online, but have bought several things on Craigslist and really love it! Once I met at a nearby Mcdonalds but 4 other times I just picked up the items at the seller's home. It's just understood that you receive cash on pickup. But I've conversed by email with each seller ahead of time, and if you want to make special arrangements or discuss payment options (cash only is obviously best) that's the time to do so. I would suggest posting pictures though-lots of buyers won't bother looking if they can't see it.
You either meet them or have them come to you. We sold a lawn mower that way and made $150.00. More than a garage sale would have brought us.
I did the same thing as Julie. Met them somewhere and they paid cash. It was easy.
Craigslist works basically like` a local classified ad. You set up an account and then post your stuff. I usually meet people somewhere to give them what they want to buy and get paid. The list warns you to only deal locally. If the item is large then I pick a time when my husband will be home for the transfer to take place. I have had great success w/both buying & selling.
I have sold several things on there. The people come and pick it up at your house and give you cash. I did however have one couple take a couple outfits they did not pay for so be careful how you have the clothes set out. They just "slipped it" into their bag when grapping an outfit grabbed two of them. You can mail if people want to send you the payment first..be sure to charge for shipping though. Good luck!!
I just posted something for the first time 2 weeks ago. I had a bedroom set sold in 2 days and the lady came to my house to pick it up. My hubby said to make sure that I asked for cash in bills no larger than 20's. We have one of those markers that we got at an office supply store to check to see if it is counterfit or not. I was very pleased that it worked so smoothly.
Good Luck!
Yes. I used to do e-bay but you have to pay to post your item and then if it does not sell you are out the fee. So now I use craigslist. It in general is local and no fee. You have to register first and then you can post items. You set the price and it is basically like a classified ad but you can add pictures. They you make arrangements for the item to be picked up and paid for. So far I really like craigslist and have had good success. If you need additional help or information feel free to PM me.
