Contraception-Question About Micronor or Errin Birth Control Pills Users

I have been on Micronor or the generic equivalent many times, and each time it was also our contraception option as well as hormone treatment. I never got pregnant while taking it, but did take it every night before bedtime consistently without missing a day. I did have breakthrough bleeding while on it, but that seems to be a pretty common thing. I'm on it again now for contraception 3 months postpartum after our first child.

It is supposed to work like any other birth control - if you start it immediately following another type of pill regimen you should be fine. Otherwise, my doctor always recommended taking one full cycle of the micronor before dropping the backup contraception.

I took it while breastfeeding my two youngest children...And as long as i remember to take it at the same time everyday, I had no worries. I took it both times for about a year. Loved it both times....never had any problems!

I have taken Micronor for over a year w/o getting pregnant. Just recently I decided I wanted to get prego again, stopped taking it and had one regular cycle, then got pregnant the next month. It worked well for me and I'll use it again after this baby.

I took micronor same time every day after my first child and was pregnant six months later with #2. Total surprise :) I would use a back up method for sure! It doesn't hurt to do it if you are worried about it.

I took Micronor/Errin for YEARS with great success but did end up getting PG on it. Thankfully, it was a few months AFTER I was married but still a complete surprise!

I saw the word "Errin" and I immediately had to say something...I was on this birth control after I had my first son, and I had an alarm set on my phone for 9 am every day, and every day I took it, and never missed one--I was terrified of becoming pregnant again!
Even though I never missed a pill, I still got pregnant, and had my second son.
I don't trust Errin, but I also don't trust the doctor who prescribed it to me. He didn't tell me about backup methods or any of that, so I wasn't using back ups, but also, I got pregnant almost a year after giving birth to my first son--so I think it should've started working by then.
Can you take a different birth control pill, or are you nursing? That's why I was taking it, because it's the low-dose hormone one I think.

All I can offer is that I started taking Micronor @ 6 weeks post partum (before I even got my period back). My period started around 6 months post partum and while still nursing, & taking Micronor, I got pregnant at 9 months post partum.
