Look for Clark's at off price places -- DSW, Famous Foorwear.
I just got the cutest little boy hikers (for me!) on clearance at FF.
Dansko, Merrill also really comfy.
Looks like the kind if shoe you could find at a Bass outlet.
hey mamas! looking for an oxford-type shoe, something i could wear with jeans or khakis - kind of like the below link.

i used to LOVE eastlands "back in the day" but the last pair i bought had a pretty hard sole and weren't TOO comfortable, although they aren't bad.
i really would love to find something in this style (and no more than $60 or so bucks if possible) that i could wear all day comfortably.
anyone have any great finds? i'd love to get them SOON - cold weather is here! no more dresses and sandals to work!
cool thanks ladies! i like the clarks. think i'll go with those....you guys rock!

Here's another vote for Clarks.
Eurosoles are pretty comfy as well.
Really any good walking-shoe brand will probably have what you are looking for, but you'll have to find them on sale to keep it under $60.
I love my Clarks shoes. Just as AriaMom said, they are super comfy, albeit a bit pricey. If you are lucky enough to have a Clark's outlet near you, the prices are lower. My Clark's Desert Boots (not really boots) are my absolute favorite! They are extremely comfy and stylish for fall/winter. Good luck in your search!
I know you are trying to keep it fairly inexpensive but I would look at Clarks. They can be a little pricey but they are super duper comfortable and they have all kinds of styles. I think you need to be willing to shell out a little more to get something you really like.
For instance:

They have other styles as well. Worth a look.
I think there will be Clarks shoes in heaven. I order from Zappos because I have skinny feet and can't ever find shoes at the Famous-Footwear type stores.
The last casual pair I ordered (recently) cost me $80, which was on the low end of the overall price range. But they're well-made and I think they'll last me at least four years, which comes out to $20 per year (or less if my estimate is low). And they feel like bedroom slippers.
P.S. The insole idea is a good one. It can make a huge difference in how your feet feel, and for only a bit of money.
Do you have an Academy near you? I really love the casual shoes there. They are SOOOO comfortable, and not too pricey, and fairly well made. I've never had a pair wear out.
I don't have any good recommendations for shoes, but if you can't find anything that seems to work for you, maybe you can try an insert to add cushion. Good luck!
I, too, love Clark's. I found some, not this style, at Macy's on sale. Apparently, Clark's now has a line that is less expensive. Without being on sale the prices ran between $60-70. I don't know if they have a style similar to this.
I bought a pair of Clarks at the Clark Outlet and paid around 40.00 for them, I've had them for 6 years now and they're still the pair I slip on the most when running out to get the kids or errands. All they need it a little shoe polish and they look brand new. I'm impressed they haven't broken down over time. You may want to look for a shoe without laces, they'll just be easier to get in and out of. I have narrow feet and do not have an issue with the shoe feeling loose or slipping.
I have gotten really comfy shoes from Easy Spirit in the past.
I love Merrell's. I have four or five pairs of them.
