Coffee Pot

Cusinart bought it at Macy's on sale and used a store coupon. I have had it for 4 years.. Really like it and matches my other appliances.

The last coffee pot I got was a 12 cup Sylvania from Walgreens. I think I got it for $12 on sale. It has been working like a dream for three years.

I also require a 12 cup model, and it must have an auto-brew timer so that my coffee is done just moments before my alarm clock goes off.

Honestly MrCoffee is my fav and seemingly most reliable.

We own a Black and Decker that works like a champ. Great for whole-pot, basic, and cheap.

I've purchased as a gift and highly recommend the Cuisinart. It's ridiculously fast, has a built in filter, and makes exceptional coffee. It's the next one we'll buy (the folks I bought it for LOVE it).

And I also have a Keurig that also works like a champ. I love it when I only want one cup.

Our simple Black and Decker 12 cup coffee pot with timer has served us well for several years. Got it on sale at Macy's. We use the timer every morning.

My problem with the Keurig is I like big cups. My coffee in the AM is an oversized cup so while we "make" 6-8 cups, it's really more like 1 for him and 2-3 for me. The Keurig for me is fun to try (I like flavored coffees and DH does not) but not something I personally want. You should try one out before buying. My sister has one, but she's a 1 or 2 regular people sized cup a day person and uses the reusable cup thing.

We like our KitchenAid one. I bought it to replace a Cuisinart Grind and Brew. While this one doesn't grind the beans (we use our own grinder) it does get the water to a hot enough temperature (not all machines do and it matters).

It was around $65 when I bought it about 2 years or so ago and we haven't had any problems with it. It even has a function that tells me when it is due to be cleaned (vinegar).

We also have the Hamilton Beach Brew Station. I bought it after our 2nd carafe shattered within 3 months. It is really great, and keeps the coffee hot inside of the unit until you're ready to dispense it for up to 4 hours. It comes with an insulated to-go coffee mug, which is perfect to dispense into in the morning.

I don't think small ones work very well and we've gone through tons but our BUN makes excellent coffee. It's just big.

I have a Tassimo and I have to agree, if it's just person, get a single serve. And I have to agree, the kids love making hot chocolate in it, I love the Starbucks flavored drinks I can make in mine and we all love the Chai. Best chai ever... strangely enough.

How many people drink coffee in the house?
How many drink more than one cup?

If it's just one person - the Keurig is great...
if it's several - you have choices. Don't know your budget...

We have the Hamilton Beach Brew Station. No carafes to break...and it was less than $50 - it is now about 5 years old.

My girlfriend has a VERY expensive machine - that grounds the beans and such - I think it was like $700 (not really sure, just know it was more than I would EVER spend on a coffee maker!!).

My sister in law has a Keurig and loves it.

I use the Hamilton Beach Brew Station. No pot! I had one at home that I used for 7 years. I finally had to replace it just this year so I got another one just a newer model. Then, of course, the pot on the coffee maker at work broke so I found a brand new older model of the Hamilton Beach Brew Station for $19 at Big Lots. Working great so far!

We bought a Keurig and LOVE it! We make coffee and the kids make hot chocolate in it.

It seems each individual pot is different. My Keurig Espresso was my husbands before we were married and I took it over. It was wonderful.

When it gave out, I read reviews and saw a large variety, so I submitted the same question here and received a variety of answers. I went on line and found the one with the best reviews. Went to Bed Bath & Beyond and purchased the pot. It stunk. The coffee was luke warm, which is one of the complaints on so many coffee pots.

I started reading about the heat plates and saw that people spent up to a couple thousand dollars on these things.

I realize were talking coffee and espresso, but luke warm doesn't cut it for my coffee either. Anyway, the second electric espresso maker leaked all over my counter.

I was without a home made cup of coffee for a few days before I walked into an Italian deli and saw the old fashioned espresso maker for sale on their shelf. Actually, the first thing I eye balled was the copper electric one in window. It was $499 and I thought I may have to spend good money to make the right espresso.

I went ahead and took the little stove top pot, thinking maybe this will do until I find the right electric pot. I have used that little pot for well over a year now and love it.

It is very consistent. Either way, you have to wait for water to reach a boiling point, however it does require that you stay near by to pull it off the fire when it is done. During the summer, I make my coffee at night and have an iced latte the next morning.

Sorry I am of no real help with your electric pot, but after two purchases and restuffing the pot in the box, I gave up.

Only my husband drinks coffee. We have a Cuisinart that we e had for at least 5 years. No problems.
He has a Keurig at work and doesn't care for it.

I love my Black and Decker. It has a timer, and my favourite feature is that it will beep when it is done brewing to let me know it is time to get out of bed.

I have had a Cuisinart 12 cup for several years, and it's great. I had a Mr. Coffee 12 cup maker before the Cuisinart, and I did a side-by-side taste test when I got the new machine. I measured exactly the same amounts of water and coffee and brewed coffee in both at the same time. The Cuisinart got the water MUCH hotter than the Mr. Coffee machine which greatly improves the taste. As other posters said, the temp does matter so keep that in mind when deciding which to buy. We got a similar deal to this about 12 years ago and our Gevalia coffee maker still works great! I attribute the longevity to cleaning with vinegar once a month or so. Would highly recommend it!

We have a inexpensive Black and Decker we bought from Walmart, it's o.k., so I don't have one I can recommend. HOWEVER I have one that I wouldn't recommend. We had a BUNN coffee maker for several years and loved it. When it died we couldn't afford to spend the $125 for a new one so we bought the B&D. Our electric bill dropped by almost $10 a month!!!!! The BUNN keeps the water hot at all times so it can brew a FAST cup of coffee. Something to think about........
