Also looking for a new church home since our recent move to OP. We grew up catholic and lutheran, but are looking for christian or lutheran! Must have excellent kids programs and be a little more contemporary than old school!

I want to suggest you try First Family Church. We just opened a new 52,000 sq ft children's building. It's a big church, it has a wonderful children's program and a personal feel. We have 3 boys (10, 8, 5) and my husband and I volunteer in the nursery. We love First Family.

A great non denominational young family church is Olathe Life Fellowship. website is www.olathelifefellowship.org check it out! The people are awesome!I am the Kids Life Director and we have a great Kids Program too

Our Church just open a second campus in Olathe on 12/3. It is located at 20600 West 119th St. Its called Christ Community church. Its other campus is at 14200 Kenneth Rd. It is a wonderful and very biblical church. We have 4 children and the youth is outstanding. My kids never want to miss church because they love it so much. The services are 9:00 and 10:45. Its not a huge church or old school. check it out.

Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Overland Park (119th, east of Metcalf) is a great church! We've been members for several years now, and continue to happy with the ministries and programs. Everyone is very friendly, and the church offers a little bit for everyone - from a traditional service to blended to contemporary. The children's ministry is great, too.
Okay, I hear you. I just moved back to KC from Atlanta Ga. I'm 23, have a 12 month old, and grew up old school Catholic in Fairway, Ks. I was online for the longest time lookin for a church to go to, and I decided to look in the Westport area, because I find that churches closer to the bad neighborhoods- its not IN one, don't worry- do more good in that community, are more real, and reach people with better clarity. When I walked into this church, I KNEW it was God's church. Not just the priest's church, someone's church who brought me, or another church I was visiting. I now attend Thurs bible studies with my daughter, miss church when I'm not there, attend church functions which are soooo fun, and have gotten into Chrisitan music- something I would have laughed my head off at before. It's called Rivercity church, and it's at 40th and Wyoming. 11 Am, and I lOVE it. Please check it out. I'm Liz, I'll introduce you to people, I'd love to make a mom friend. ( I have none! ;P)
