I switched my son to a small at-home licensed daycare, which I love. I am wondering how to handle a Christmas bonus. If you are an at-home provider, what do you typically get. If you go to an at-home daycare, what do you typically give.

What can I do next?

Last Christmas one of my families got me a nice gift card for dinner and 2 passes to a movie. The other gave me office supplies, printer paper, glue sticks, paper clips etc. stuff I use with the kids everyday and a gift card to the aveda salon. Both were wonderful and thoughtful. I don't think that anything is expcted but everyting is appreciated. I know I would love a gift card for a peicure or something nice like that!

I would say it is up to you and what you are comfortable with. Everyone is different and will have a different feeling on this.
When my son was in the center, I did give the girls free sessions (to see me as I am a Certified Massage Therapist/Reflexologist); but that was my way to thank them and I was quite close to a few of them.
Before I became a therapist, I would give a small gift bag of goodies that contained baked goods, hand-painted items and bath items (I prefer Lush as the store carries a variety of things).

My brother owns the tanning salon that my daycare provider uses, so we gave her a gift worth close to $75 (free month of tanning and lotions), but we only actually paid $25. Shhhhhh...
