I know the previous moms said Celtic Women and i say the same thing!!! They sing so beautiful and amazing. They give me the goose bumps every time i hear them!! Buy it for she'll love it
My mom wants an upbeat Celtic music CD for Christmas. Now...I love Irish music, like Flogging Molly and The Pogues, but I don't know if my mom would like that kind! Can anyone suggest a singer, band or CD?
This isn't the easiest present I've had to get!!!

Christy Moore , Sharon Shannon are two Irish artists that I would recommend
Happy xmas
B. here in Ireland
I agree with the Celtic Women suggestion. You could also find the soundtrack for "Lord of the Dance" or "Riverdance."
The band "Celtic Women" is great... I saw them on PBS.... nice music... your Mom will probably like it.
Look it up on Amazon... and you can read the reviews of them.
My mom loves Celtic Thunder.
Enya, Clannad, Ffynnon, Lunasa.
Try searching Loreena McKennitt!
I agree with Loreena McKennitt. She's awesome.

I can not believe no on has suggested Leahy! They are amazing!! It is a family group and if you ever have the chance to see them in concert DO IT! It is something you will never forget!!
The Coors and the music from Riverdance which is amazingly catchy!
Celtic thunder!!! :) :)
There is a great Iowa City group called The Beggarmen. They are a celtic quartet and we had them perform at ArtsCentral for the Waukee Area Arts Council. They are great!
They have several CDs www.beggarmen.com
Good Luck
Celtic Thunder, Celtic Women, the Chieftans
Gaelic Storm has my vote, too for upbeat Irish music. They tour around here frequently and give great concerts.
A local group here in the Twin Cities is Langer's Ball. Not as wild as Gaelic Storm, but still fun to listen to.
If you ever get to the Twin Cities, check out Irish on Grand -- they have a great selection of Irish music. They might have stuff online, too, I've never looked. Or if you call them, I'm sure they'd help -- they are really nice.
"Four shillings short", this is a fun group, we listen whenever we can.

Stonering (I think you'd probably have to try to purchase this group online... they are a Madison, WI band). AWESOME!!!
Chieftans (but you have to be careful what CD you get, some are not upbeat)
I don't know if it is still available or not but a few years ago I bought a CD called Irish Pub Songs (I believe it is the Sean O'Neill Band). I overheard it at the music store and asked what it was because it was so peppy and made me want to dance. I'll have to check out some of the others that were suggested.
I haven't read a lot of answers yet but here are a few of my faves besides the ones you listed: Enchanted Garden by Lisa Lynne, Loreena McKennitt, Celtic Woman (went twice to their concert!), Capercaillie, and Enya. Good luck!
Don't forget about the "Great Big Sea" a Celtic band out of Newfoundland. They rock. Go to their web site and take a listen.
I would suggest Gaelic Storm. They are great for all ages.
Gaelic Storm and Double Indemnity are my favorites. Really upbeat and all around a whole lot of fun.
I agree with the suggestion of Celtic Women. They are fantastic!
Gaelic Storm is my favorite!
I know a singer that sings Celtic music that I *love* her name is Celia Farran, check her out at www.celiaonline.com you can listen to tracks and learn more. I love her and you might, too! *Peace*! :)
