I lived in Weston and there are tons of B&B's there with some really great winery's (or should it be "ies"?). It was such a cute and quaint little town. There is so much to do and lots of yummy food!
Hi moms,
My husband and I will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary in November. At our 10 year anniversary we had wanted to do something for our anniversary, but our daughter was born around that time with some medical issues. Now here we are 5 years later with 2 healthy kiddos and I thought it would be nice to do something to celebrate us making it this long.
We live in OP and would just want to travel 2-3 hours away at the most. I am looking for a place where we can get away and relax for a day or two. As always, thanks for your help ladies - you guys rock!!!

The Schoolhouse B&B in Rocheport, MO (just west of Columbia) is wonderful! My husband and I went there on our first anniversary. It's right on the Katy Trail and you can rent bikes for the day or just by the hour. If you go, have dinner at Abigail's. Yum.
There is a cozy Bed and Breakfast in Bonner Springs, MO called Back in Thyme? try it out. My husband and I went there years ago and loved it.
There is a B&B in Lawrence called, Circle S Ranch. It is a great place to get away. You might also check out Bed&B's in Weston and Parkville. Going to Herman Missouri (if you like wine), is also a fun thing to do.

I second the Weston, MO idea. It is a great quick get away and you really feel like you are in a different place. It is adorable.
It's a little more than 2-3 hours (but I think only 4 or so?) but Arkansas (I know, right?!!!) has some really fun places. My husband and I went to Hot Springs and we had a great time. It is a quaint little artsy town in the middle of the country and they have tons of B&Bs plus local spas, stores, and restaurants. I highly recommend it because it's not too far or too pricey but you really feel like you got away!
Congrats on 15 years of marriage!
For 2 hours away, I like going to Rocheport, MO for a quick getaway. But honestly, you'll get bored trying to spend 2-3 days there. The idea is to get a room at a B&B, have dinner at the Borgeois Winery, have a nice breakfast the next morning and if it's nice, maybe bike part of the Katy Trail. Don't know if the weather will hold out for you to bike (you can rent bikes by the hour).
Maybe you can go to Rocheport for one night and St. Louis the next!
