Hi ladies, you guys steered me in the right directions for a gyno so I am hoping you can help me again. I have SVT (a heart arrythmia) and recently spent two nights in the hospital due to this. I don't have a regular cardiologist and now am in need of one as I am not too impressed with the one the hospital assigned me. I live in Long Beach so need someone in that general area. The main problem I have is that my arrythmia is hard to catch on the monitors and so I am a big medical mystery and most docs I have encountered want to do surgery right off the bat, but I have tried three times already with that and am not willing to jump right back into that. It was terribly depressing when those three surgeries didn't work so I am not willing to put my self thru that emotional roller coaster again right away. My condition is not life threatening just really annoying, and for the most part doesn't affect my life too much. Until recently that is so now I want to see if I can do something more about it. So any recommendations of cardiologists would be very welcome. I intend to 'interview' as many as possible. Thanks for your help!!

I recommend Dr. David Cannom. He works in the Torrance area. He's a parent and past-trustee at the school I work at. Numerous people in the school community are treated by him.
Hi,
My husband had SVT too and just had surgery in January at UCLA with Dr. Shivkumar. He was awesome and the surgery was a success! We live in OC and made the trip to UCLA in order to get the best care...well worth it. Good luck and take care, C.
Hi J.-
My friend is a nurse practitioner at a cardiologist's office in Long Beach. Dr Hermer. I know she is great and she has nothing but amazing things to say about Dr Hermer as well. Here is his number if you would like to check him out. He is located right next to LB Memorial. ###-###-#### Good luck!
Hi J., I have a great rec for you but he's at Torrance Memorial. That's not too bad of a commute. Call Dr. Benjamin Rosin at ###-###-####. He is such a nice wonderful man, and, head of Cardiology at the hospital. Good luck and take care!

Two recommendations, both exellent. Both work out of Los Alamitos and Memorial.
Jim Licht 3801 Katella ###-###-####
Omid Vahdat ###-###-#### same building as Dr. Licht
Both have great reputations and good bedside manner.
Hi J.,
My son was diagnosed with SVT almost 10 years ago and has had the surgery 3 times. I know exactly what you're going through. Last year alone we had 8 ER visits. First of all you don't want a basic cardiologist you need an electrophysiologist. When my son was young we had a fantastic EP but he moved to teach at Yale. He recommended Dr. Cannom at LA Cardiology and I'm thrilled he did. We have been going for several years are are very happy with the treatment he has received. There is a Dr. Ho on staff too that is also fantastic. We live in OC so it's a bit of of trek but well worth going. The EP community is small so choose wisely. If you want more information please feel free to contact me. Best of luck to you.
