We love the Washington and Ranier cherries. Some weeks they are $6+ / pound. This week we have great choices at $1.99/# Washington cherries and $4.97 Ranier.

Can these be frozen? We love them and would like to save them as long as possible. I buy them daily!

Thanks in advance!

I finally broke down and got a 'foodsaver'.

I LOVE it! What suz t suggested is JUST the way to do it...any berry on a cookie sheet...then vacuum pack it!

**I find myself looking for items to suck the air out of...lol...it has become an addiction I fear***

Enjoy!

My mom froze cherries. I know they were pitted first. She put them in a Vacuum sealed bag... wish she was around so I could ask her. Just asked my dad and he said "I don't know... your mom did it" (great dad!! Thanks for paying attention!!)...

The defrost is important, freezer to fridge.... then out...

You can freeze cherries. Just pit them and store them with as little air as possible. Best to use a vacuum sealer but not necessary.

it's time to store 'em up for winter! i pit them, spread them on a cookie sheet to freeze, then pop 'em in a ziplock bag and voila! smoothie goodness in winter.
love cherries.

You can even freeze them with the pits. We eat them frozen sometimes. Just don't forget that you left the pit in :-).
