I have a 10 month old who weighs 26 lbs already and is about 32 inches tall. I am having a hard time finding a high chair (I would like one that rolls) that has a higher weight limit. Most of what I am finding is either 36 or 40 lbs. At the rate he is growing, I would really like to just buy one that goes up to at least 45lbs. I found one (Zooper Pea's and Carrots) but the reviews have not been great. Any suggestions?
Thanks for all the advice. We actually have the Infant To Toddler Booster Seat and this is what we have been using. We really just wanted a high chair with wheels so that he could move around the kitchen with me (or his nanny). After all of your comments I think we will probably just stick to what we have been using. Thank you so much for taking time to help!

The Peg Perego Prima Pappa is a great high chair. I've used it with 2 boys and it has held up great. My 2nd son was big for his age too...he was 30 lbs at 1 year, but this chair was perfect for him. The height and foot rest are adjustable and it collapses for easier storage. It rolls around and has brakes that keep it positioned where you want it. Also, the seat reclines so if you have more children, you can use it when they first begin eating. It is a little pricey, but well worth the money!
You might have to get a booster and put it in a regular chair. It won't roll, but the weight is much higher on these.
We have the kind that straps onto a chair also. I'm not sure what the weight limit is, but it's big enough to fit a preschooler in if you take the tray off. If you really need it to roll, you can put it on a chair with wheels!
Hi, Why don't you get one that straps to a regular chair. I love mine and my 26 pd 14 month old is great in it and still has some wiggle room. I happen to have the "The First Years" by Learning Curve and it has a 50 pd weight limit. I find it great because I can take it off my chair, throw it in the car and take it to someones home who doesn't have a highchair. It's easy to clean and doesn't take up a ton of space and in she is able to soon sit in it right up at the table with us without the tray (which she's still using now). Give it a try, it wasn't expensive at all! Good luck!
We love the Stokke Tripp Trapp. It doesn't roll but has other great advantages. Check it out: http://www.stokkeusa.com/tripptrapp.htm
Congratulations on your wonderful "little" one! This is just a thought...growth rates often slow up a bit after the first year, and maybe you won't need the extra large chair. I think I'd get an opinion from the ped. doc., as they have great experience and those handy growth charts. Best of luck to you and your family!
Hi H.,
We use a wooden high chair with a removable tray that fits under our kitchen table to give our two year old a boost. He no longer needs the tray and the wooden style does not take up all the room of a plastic traditional type high chair. You may like the longevity of this type, also.
Good luck, no sense in spending a hundred dollars for something you use until they are 2 and then store it away. My daughter, 4, still sits in a child size, higher sitting chair. This one will surely last us until my new baby is 4!
There is some people that build them for you for the weight.I will try and find out for you okay!! You know like someone that likes making things out of wood..
Have you searched Amazon.com? Amazon just has about anything one is looking for. Even if you don't buy it thru them you can find out the name of the product and go from there. Might want to go to Google.com and search on there too.
I think you may be limited to the one you found if you want it to roll.... she may taper off quite a bit with weight gain, simply because she's going to be a very busy toddler soon!!! However, for non-rolling - I've heard WONDERFUL things about these two:

the next one is very popular and grows with the child for years to come... I suggest watching the demo and learning about the baby/toddler attachments... http://www.stokkeusa.com/tripptrapp.htm
I also say get the booster seat that straps onto a kitchen chair. They are great! I gave my high chair away early because it was big and bulky.
I have lots of friends who have had unusually large babies but none who have had unusually large two year olds. His growth will slow down and he is much more likely to outgrow the high chair developmentally before he out grows it physically.
Hi H.!
My kids also were way past the height/weight for many products. (Forget a changing table!) What I did was keep them in the high chair until they reached the weight limit, then switched to a booster seat that fit into the regular dining chairs. These type of boosters have seatbelts, and straps which secure the booster to the chair, and are quite stable. They even have removable trays, so they can be used like a high chair, or just pushed up to the table. They are also portable, and far, far easier to clean than a full-sized high chair.
Best of luck!
Warmly,
C.
Going from 26 to 45 pounds is a huge leap. Before buying a high chair, I'd take a look at the growth chart and see what kind of trajectory your baby is on. My four year old is in the 95% for both height and weight and only weighs 42 1/2 pounds. My guess is the majority of high chairs out there will be just fine for the length of time you require one. Hope this helps!

I found this site http://www.parenting.com/article/Baby/Gear/Baby-Must-Have.... It has some ratings about the The Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair. I also found a few at shopzilla.com. Good luck in finding that great chair:)
Hi there. I use the Fisher price space saver high chair that attaches to any chair. It's so light weight I've even taken it to several restaurants since my son isn't quite big enough for the regular high chairs at the restaurants. It has a weight limit of 50 lbs and converts into a toddler booster seat. I cannot say enough how much I like this chair. It will be useful for the next one too as it has three seated positions, reclining, sitting up a bit, sitting up completely. Here's a link to what I'm talking about: http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2002&e=product... Hope that helps even though it doesn't have wheels. Take care!
There's probably not a lot that will hold a higher weight limit...have you checked the weight limits on the "partial" high chairs that you place in a chair at the kitchen table? I've seen ones that have their own tray and all, just w/o the base...they might hold more since the chair would be absorbing the bulk of the weight.
I know it doesn't have wheels but since it is smaller, you might could carry it to the sink to wash off and pick up to move out of the way when not in use.
H.,
We put our daughter in a $14 booster chair that straps to a dining chair (w/ the click on tray) starting at 8 or 9 months. We never even really used a highchair.
I wish I'd thought of it for my first!

I'm not sure about an actual high chair, but I believe the portable high chair that I had went up to like 50lbs. It's basically like a booster seat with a tray that attatches. You strap the seat onto the dining room chair and you're good to go. It does also have straps to keep the child secure. HTH
